@@cadogangurung1824 Don't think it's a question of "better then". Whoever they pick should be given the freedom to bring his or her own personality and style of playing into the band, if it meshes well with the band. If Dave and the others are willing to do that, think whoever replaces Taylor will be successful. Hope also that fans of the band will also be willing to give the new person a chance.

If anyone doesn't think they were best friends, John said in an interview in the early 70's that Paul was his best friend aside from Yoko ("best male friend") but they didn't see each other anymore. So Paul kind of lost him twice. Started getting their friendship back together in the late 70's and 1980, and then lost him permanently.

Watching Paul it was clear this performance was designed to do nothing more than try to give Dave a little joy. Paul directed all energies at Dave and he tried a couple times with his unique nonverbal communication skills to help Dave realize that this cal still be fun, and asked the fans to send him that energy as well. I think I detected that Dave was choked up a couple times when he stopped back into the shadows. Paul is just a gift to us all, isn't he? Have you even seen him being anything but honest and kind to people? Hang in there, Dave, It really does get better every day.

What a living legend this guy is, and what a true survivor. The Beatles literally changed the face of music in the sixties and created the new sound that directly or indirectly inspired most of the bands of today. It’s been a journey of extreme highs and lows, from the top of the music scene down to losing Linda, John and George, escaping the clutches of a vampire, and yet somehow he rises above it all, and here he a 80 is still doing what he’s always done best. So the voice may not be quite what it used to be, but when it’s Paul McCartney up there performing the soundtrack of our lives, who cares about that!

The best of the best!! Bob Dylan about McCartney “I’m in awe of Paul McCartney,” Dylan told Rolling Stone in 2007. “He’s about the only one that I am in awe of. But I’m in awe of him. He can do it all and he’s never let up, you know. He’s got the gift for melody, he’s got the rhythm. He can play any instrument. He can scream and shout as good as anybody and he can sing the ballad as good as anybody, you know so … And his melodies are, you know, effortless. That’s what you have to be in awe … I’m in awe of him maybe just because he’s just so damn effortless.”

Coming towards the end of 22 , I reflect on my highlights from the year, myself and my 17 yr old son where 20ft from this performance front and centre on that glorious night, I will never forget this night, and he said to me after it, it was one of his greatest experiences he has ever had, peace unity love and having fun is what life is all about.

Easy. John Lennon. Keep in mind he’s had 40 years less than Paul to write the classics he would’ve written in all those decades 🤦🏽‍♂️ Bob Dylan is also in the same tier

@@hw343434 I'm the biggest Beatles and Lennon fan that there is but even I disagree. Paul was the genius of the Beatles. Imagine is one of the greatest songs if not the greatest song ever written but Macca is a cut above. Wings and his solo stuff was incredible. I adore Dylan too and my God what a back catalogue but he wasn't an all rounder like Macca and he never wrote Penny Lane or Eleanor Rigby. Haha

@@thedappercook Paul was the genius of the Beatles?! 🤣 MAYBE as much a genius as John giving him the benefit of the doubt. Anybody who says that baseless statement is not a Beatles fan, period. They were all 4 geniuses and even George Martin and Geoff Emerick were brilliant. Paul was a small percentage of the whole genius that was the Beatles and that’s why his solo career is a major drop off from the Beatles. if you think Wings and Pauls solo material is incredible then i guess that’s another story. To each his own. But none of Paul’s solo albums (or Wings) are featured in most top 500 albums ever lists of any music publications. And certainly nowhere near John’s top 2 solo albums “Plastic Ono Band” and “Imagine”. Or George’s debut for that matter. This is not my opinion, just what music sites and publications across the board agree on. In the end, music is subjective and I personally think “Band on the Run” album deserves a spot there and perhaps even Ram, but neither of those albums have the influence of John’s “Plastic Ono Band” and “Imagine” albums

@@hw343434 ohhh brother. You're talking to a Beatles historian bro, I know all their is to know and I can tell you that all the most memorable bits of Lennon/Macca songs are all maccas best bits. None the less he is the GOAT and will remain that way. Once you've written Penny Lane, The Long and Winding Road, Yesterday (the most played and covered song in music history), and the many many other great songs he wrote as a solo artist and Wings it's game over. And like I said I'm a Lennon obsessive and own every solo album, book, memorabilia there is. They have made up the core of my life, they're my everything.
