Elvin Bishop wrote a great one with this one.Elvin is still doing his thing at 81.Mickey Thomas on lead vocals here,with Reni Slais also killing it on vocals.I did see Elvin and Mickey play this live in Tulsa,Oklahoma in the mid '70's.Being old isn't too bad,seeing bands like this was a great thing.Thank you Rory for this one!

Elvin Bishop was a original member of The Paul Butterfield Blues Band in Chicago.

Singer is Mickey Thomas. Later longtime lead singer for Jefferson Starship (He shared lead vocals with Grace Slick although Mickey sang lead on a majority of the tracks). You should check out some of their work from the late 70's/early 80's!

Mickey Thomas's vocal performance on Jefferson Starship's song Jane is incredible, and is definitely reaction worthy. For many years I thought that Elvin Bishop sang the lead vocal on this one.

Elvin bishop is the band and leader. He plays the guitar solo. Very talented. Chicago blues in the 60s. He wrote the song, but decided that his backup singer, Mickey Thomas would do the song best. Mickey, a backup singer at the time, later went on to sing with Jefferson Starship. Check him out on 'Jane'. Fantastic vocals. I love the 70s.

Living in Northern CA, Elvin Bishop opened many of the concerts there. Saw him close to a dozen times. Never the main band but he always got the crowd started.

In the hot hot summer of 1974 I hitch hiked with 2 friends to Sedalia, Missouri to the Ozark Music Festival where I saw this band play this song. It was amazing, of course, but I was on 2 tabs of Lucy in the Sky w'Diamonds (amber windowpane), so it was kind of an out of this world performance for me. There were rides left over from the recent State Fair so I ended up tripping while riding on the Tilt-A-Whirl. That was by far the craziest festival I have ever seen or heard of in my life. When we got there all the fences had been torn down and complete chaos reigned supreme over the small town, now swarmed with 200,000 or so hippies tripping their brains out for 3 days. The title is misleading the great lead singer is Mickey Thomas and Elvin , what a great guitarist. Im listening to music over 60 yrs i rate this as a magnificent performance and one of the greatest songs ever. Mickey went to Jefferson Starship later u need to check out JANE ZZ its🔥🔥🔥🔥 like this.
