You cannot sing a song like that and not mean it. Elvis meant every word of that song because he was always thankful to the LORD for the blessings He gave him.

@@bigbarry0946 I believe he had an extra special impartation of the Holy Spirit. And it was through this and the supernatural voice, looks, gentle but had bad temper when crossed( don't we all)? And the greatest thing was, Elvis was never coy or ashamed of His Lord Jesus. And Father God. Everything he sings, you know his voice will SOAR LIKE AN EAGLE during or end of song. As if to emphasise something. Then after rocking rafters he gently says, Thank you'. Not at all breathless. He was a special anointed human. I will agree on that but we humans were created to be different from Angels, who are God's messengers. Elvis to me was more Evangelist, with his confession of the Godhead, wherever he happened to be. A R&R concert then a resounding Gospel song where he got an ovation was unheard of. But it was the norm for him and making the poor known to the well off. He'd been on both sides of coin. I honestly don't think he could hurt anybody without hurting himself.

I've been listening to Elvis for 67 years (I'm almost 80) and I can tell you that rather than tiring of any of his songs and recordings, they get better each time I listen to them... year on year. Elvis could sing anything and was a master of all genres. To him there were no categories. It was just all simply... Music!

Me too. Well said Ken. I can just imagine him going into a black Church down south somewhere and the Plantation workers singing this. It's surely true black Gospel and sung with such reverence. He would be singing along feeling the words in the depth of his being. They called it 'lining' in some Churches where they couldnt praps afford Bibles or some couldn't read. But they knew how to sing to the Lord. And Elvis picked up on that, God bless em all. Now we are integrated, I think, but these Gospel hymns are the most pure for me.

Elvis was the only rock star that would always bring a gospel song into his concerts. To relax, he would sing gospel before and long into the early hours after his concerts. His only Grammy awards were for his gospel music. He Believed👌💕🕺

Elvis did not just sing the lyrics to the gospel songs, he felt what he was singing. There is such a tight connection between his singing, his beautiful, talented voice and his emotions and feelings about what he is singing it makes a tremendous impact on the listener! It connects to our feelings and emotions as we hear the wonderful music.

First let me thank you for not interrupting this precious song. You are in for a treat while listening all Elvis gospel songs. Elvis was the first singer to sing gospel music during a secular concert. He sang How Great Thou Art. The 1972 Hampton Rhodes, VA was especially powerful. He was filled with the Holy Spirit. The fact that Elvis was (is) a Christian from his youth makes his gospel music even sweeter and more meaningful.

When Elvis passed, my mother and dad showed up at my door, with tears streaming from her eyes and dad standing behind her rolling his eyes. Most men think of him as a "heart throb" and truthfully, he was. Talented way beyond our league. I'm 73 and my grandmother wouldn't miss his appearance at the Daytona Beach Bandshell if he appeared. Mom asked her boss (a doctor), one day, "... I wonder why she is so AFTER Elvis"? She's in her 60s! Boss answered " ... she probably has some hormones"! It is a natural. He was beautiful, all of it, even the sin, because it was forgiven and he's up there. So much of his music should be listened to by our younger people. They never listened to the lyrics ... we know he had the talent to bring it across. They would gain a whole lot if they did.

Elvis singing gospel is amazing. He won more Grammy’s for his gospel singing than for any of his rock & roll ! He was part of the black community & church while growing up, he grew up dirt poor & I think his going with both black & white churches was deep inside Elvis his entire life & he gave back to communities he was part of & Elvis never forgot where his life began. His gospel singing is beautiful & heavenly 🥰😇💖☮️

He Touched Me. Crying In The Chapel. They just grip your soul. All his Gospel songs are amazing but those two are among his best. So easy to hear Elvis sing them again and again -- after the song is over. That astounding voice of his just resonates. His Gospel music is definitely underrated. Noone in Rock or Pop genre history did more for Christian music than Elvis Presley. Right in the middle of his rock concert he would break out a gospel song or two. Music like this can change your life into a new and more wholesome direction, no matter the pain you are in today or will be in tomorrow. It's part of his legacy. Elvis' gift of music will outlast many generations to come.

And as I watch you react to Elvis my soul cries for you That ur just now discovering the man behind the voice. Had u grown up as I did listening to him how much richer ur soul would be. But I'm glad young black men as URSELF have put away the lies and bigatry u probably heard about Elvis. As ur finding out it was bogus. But they'll be those who still spread the lies to keep him down to the black community. What a waste. If they listen as ur doing how much fuller their lives wud be. Keep ur mind open as you R today and in about ten years from now as u absorb Elvis the man the music the King 👑 ull think in your mind how much more full ur soul has become. @@jackgill3832 unfortunately I never saw Elvis live. I was 13 when he died but grew up listening to him. My sister has been a fan for many years.she is 7 yrs older than me. I love going to the concerts here with him on the big screen. I find it so emotional. I’ve never been to Graceland either.my fear of flying has stopped me. ☹️

Elvis was one of kind. I remember when they announced that Elvis passed I was a little girl at the time. I was hiding behind the sofa. I cried so hard. My mom get me home because my eyes were so swollen from crying. But yeah I'm a lot older now and I still listen to this gospel music I can listen to him all day. But thank you for viewing this and reacting to it I love your reactions they seem so genuine.

There is an old story about Elvis who, still wired with energy after a concert, would start a gospel session with his musicians and backup singers. They would want to get home to their families because they would be tired. Listen to "My Father's House" as soon as you have time.

After a vegas concert 1 of his backup singers houses in memphis was burgled. He found out drove to there apartment in vegas . Comforted the wife paid for everything and sat with his kids and told everything that was stolen will be replaced

I’m so excited and happy that I finally see Elvis for the incredible artist that he was. I’m only 5 videos in and I’m so impressed. I have a new video coming soon that made me cry. I had to stop recording for a bit to weep. It’s his “Unchained Medley “ performance. So hard to watch but, he voice was so beautiful. GOD BLESS IS SOUL.

@@awordfrompresidentpat1985 Thank you ❤️🇬🇧 I’m s UK lady and the Elvis fan base is huge here. Unfortunately he never performed here so the only way we could see Elvis was by way of his films. The films I admit, were not epic or blockbusters but they were fun and we could see our idol! They were so ‘sanitised’ ,formulaic and he was so restrained. I wish Elvis could have got from the rigid grip of Tom Parker and been able to do some serious film work. You could see he had s feel for comedy! I’m now finding a new angle which is by way of you sir and your reactions. They are great 👌and I love your expressions on your introduction piece. Thank you and enjoy your day 👌🤗 🇬🇧

Elvis Presley when you get right down to it was meant to be a gospel singer he's great but the other stuff but his face was so deep and he couldn't sing a praise to the Lord without it coming from the very bottom of his feet the depths of his soul. He does an absolutely spectacular rendition of The Old rugged Cross.

Unfortunately Elvis did not record The Old Rugged Cross. If you heard it on KZfaq you should be able to discern it’s not Elvis even though the caption advertises his name.
