He married her when she was almost 22. In years between 14 and 18 she dated many other guys going steady with at least one. The movie is deliberately deceptive in so many ways.

People really gotta understand the times here. In the 1950s, older men getting with younger women was very common. My grandma was 17 when she married my 33 year old grandfather and they lived a long happy life together, I don’t remember much of him other than his amazing smile. When they married she was 21 and he was 31. Plus the guy had been dead for 45 years he can’t even defend himself

I think it’s more of the fact she was 14 not 17, and it really shows in the way she acted. I was a child at 14, and a young woman at 17. There’s a difference and happy for your grandparents but just because it was common doesn’t make an argument for it being alright. My grandma was 17 and my grandfather was 7 years older than her and it was a toxic relationship. So again, just because you have proof of one relationship with a huge gap as successful, does generalize to others. There’s a reason things have changed in law, and it’s not because people were unhappy or it became less common.

NO!!!!!!!!! STOP with that excuse! I am beyond sick of it! She was legally a minor back then! The "times were different" thing only apply to medieval times and before that when people died younger and heirs were important. Even then if they married at 12 the custom was to wait to consummate the marriage! Sure not everyone followed that, which is how Margaret Beaufort (Henry the 8th's grandmother) ended up pregnant and widowed at 13. Large age gaps are never ok! I don't care what anyone says. A 17 year old has nothing in common with a 33 year old! The brain isn't even fully formed until around 25! I was a totally different person at 17 then I was at 33. Just because you think it worked out and your grandparents marriage was all blissful doesn't make it so or the norm! Their have been ZERO age gaps that big in my family tree! Not even my great grandparents or before. Just because something happened sometimes doesn't mean it was right then, now or at any time in history! We were the same as human beings all of that time. Also, you don't know squat about the reality of your grandparents marriage! They did not tell their children or their grandchildren the details or if they had problems. Many people did and do stay married but that doesn't mean they were happy! Divorce was looked down upon for a very long time. I think it even affected my parents who definitely should have divorced. They were married for 32 years before my Dad's sudden death and I could tell from observation they were not happy most of that time! I was also verbally told that by both as an adult but I already knew that because I started seeing it clearly around the time I was in middle school. I saw the exact same thing in my grandparents and they certainly never considered divorce ever! Just because people stay married it doesn't mean it is a happy and healthy marriage.

He continued with underage girls and of age women even after they were married. This is well known and documented and it is not a matter of defending one's self, the law is the law! It also wasn't very common. The average age of first marriage was 20 for women and 23 for men. So the average age gap was 3 years. Questionable age gaps were more accepted that's true enough... but not more common. In 2010 the average age for first marriage for women was 26.5 and for men 28.5. So the age gap now isn't much more narrow than it was then.

Lisa Marie said in an email that the script seemed 'vengeful". She didn't approve of the tone of this film before she passed. Elvis aside, Priscilla left out a lot of things that would have made her look bad. While they both had affairs and Elvis was obviously far from perfect but neither was Priscilla. Mike Stone her affair partner was himself married and had a pregnant wife. This wasn't in the movie. Last year, Priscilla went after her own granddaughter, Riley Keough in court to contest the will of Lisa Marie after her passing. Priscilla has shown herself to be a ruthless person. This movie that she was the executive producer of is an example. She also demanded to be buried next to the love of her life (Elvis) in the settlement but she also decided to further bury Elvis with this film. If she suffered so much at his hands why does she still have his last name and is living off his legacy?

Il film Priscilla è un concentrato di menzogne. Lisa Marie Presley prima di morire stracciò la sceneggiatura e minacciò Priscilla e Sofia Coppola che si sarebbe sentita costretta ad agire pubblicamente contro sua madre. Chissà quante cose aveva da raccontare contro Priscilla. Se avesse parlato Priscilla sarebbe stata costretta a cambiare pianeta. Già con il film, flop senza precedenti, ha fatto una figuraccia che una persona normale si chiuderebbe a casa per il resto della sua vita. Ma Priscilla è imprenditrice delle sue figuracce. Ha perso la faccia già prima dei suoi ritocchini estetici. Si bruciò completamente agli occhi di Elvis già in Germania quando a soli quattordici anni si offrì sessualmente per rimanere incinta e incastrarlo prima che Elvis tornasse negli Stati Uniti. Ma Elvis la respinse duramente . Ma lei che aveva il fondoschiena a posto della faccia cominciò a perseguitarlo.

Well ending was about Precislla left elvis because he was abusive reason why was because all those pills and drugs has convert him to destroy his marriage as you can see they both cheated but mostly elvis did because he had issues mating with his wife after birth of his own daughter and Precislla cheated cause elvis obviously didn't support her needs and attention as a Husband should based on the movie and also the movie Elvis

Priscilla keeps changing her story throughout the years after Elvis passed. Following her throughout the years I found her to very unreliable to sticking to a stir without changing it. At one time she wanted to look older to look like the Hollywood actress’s Elvis associated with. To fit in. Now it is only his idea so he now groomed her. She’s totally twisting things to suit herself. Why would Lisa Marie have written to Sophia Coppola that the movie misrepresented her father. And her mother’s prospective of the movie. Why would she go against her mother ? You would hav to have followed Priscilla through the years to understand. She realize on Elvis to make her relevant. And $$$. She is a liar by not telling whole truth.

I don’t know if any of this is true about their relationship but if it is anything close to this, she deserved better. And Elvis deserved better when it came down to his money sucking vampire of a manager to use him like a cash cow. However I’m glad she left him when she did. I hope the real Priscilla is doing well after the passing of her daughter. I’m not a parent but losing a child of your own is something no good, decent parent should have to go through. When they took liberties with the story they should have added more drama in. The book is wayyyy more over the top and interesting imo. The movie was ok but it basically fell flat in some areas. Especially near the end when we basically got a cliff hanger.

hate if you want but the movie came off as a spoiled brat boo hoo Elvis won't pay attention to me. she's 14 yrs old she and her pimping parents thought Elvis was going to just settle down and marry her and thought they were going to be rich what kind of parents lets a 14 yr old go out with a 24 yr old then move to his home i guess pimping is good money. Priscilla painted a picture of her parents as cowards too scared to talk back to a sassy kid. Elvis was never going to change for anyone not even for her he was Elvis he was set in his ways. the way she wanted people to see the movie was Elvis was a bully and abusive to her and controlled her when in fact the man didn't want anything to do with her after the novelty wore off marriage didn't enter his mind until Parker and Pricilla's father blackmailed him into it which wasn't in the movie. i really think she was trying to top the Elvis movie that came out. She is still trying to stay on top even as far as bullying her granddaughter into burying her at Graceland finding a septic tank and dumping her in it. truth hurts. .

Am i missing something here, watched the first half hour, whatever sort of twisted people were they, a 24 yo man and a 14 yo child, whos parents allowed this virtual paedophilia, i dont care whether they had sex or not, what sort of time was it when parents let a 14 yo daughter be exposed to a 24 yo man, creepy viewing to say the least, Elvis had spoken to her for all of 2 minutes and then exclaimed "I wish you hadve met my dead mother", heavy stuff for a stranger of 14 to take in, totally ridiculous

As an Elvis fan from the early days, I've been unable to watch his films or listen to his music, for decades. He undoubtedly groomed her and other young girls and had much wrong considering he believed he could cheat but his wife must be loyal. Too sad, given his talent., Lack of education isn't enough to excuse him.
