Great footage from the ‘71 concert at the Gardens. I was 4 days old and living in Cincinnati when that concert took place lol. That was Elvis’s first concert in Cincinnati as he did not play here in the 1950’s. This venue did host some Alan Freed concerts in the late 50’s though. Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis among others played here at that time. Elvis’s limo did in fact drive right inside those roll up doors in the rear of the building. Prior to the demolition one of the local news channels had some really good archival footage of that and also of the fans going in the front entrance. I haven’t been able to find it again though. Great video thanks for posting!!

Hello from England Another enjoyable video. Cincinnati Gardens Arena once again its not there now! Demolished? Whatever Elvis was wearing that day i feel that it was so SPARKLY!! Once again Elvis was GIVING IT SOME like he did at EVERY SHOW. Wasn't Wilt Chamberlain part of the Harlem Globetrotters back in the day? I have thought a lot about these Arena's / Coliseum's and we in England were about 10-15 years behind the USA in building a concert venue what would have a capacity of say 10,000 An example i give is the NEC Arena/Exhibition Halls not far from where i live -11 miles away this was opened by Her Majesty the Queen in 1976 and the capacity grew over time We also had the Old Wembley Arena but this was not ready till around 1978

Trey!!!! 💔💔 The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority bought the Cincinnati Gardens in 2016. They started knocking it down in March of 2018. They said they would build an industrial factory that would bring hundreds of jobs to the neighborhood. It’s almost the end of 2021: no building, no jobs, and no Gardens. An effort was made by locals to save it, but hearing from management at the Gardens it seems like the new Xavier Arena (with climate control) took most of the business from them. xo

The sounds at the very start of this video clip contributed by one of your subscribers, tells the whole story. the fans cant get enough Elvis. I'm with you,,always wonder why it is so critical these old building are demolished. Trey, Have said this before,,even at this time frame a video camera ,,8mm, was very much a luxury to own. Tearing down Cincinnati Gardens was a criminal act to my thinking. There was a minute or two there where A WLW sports guy (original from Brooklyn) named Andy "Furball" Furman who was trying to whip up backers and support for NHL team to relocate to the Queen City. It looked like it might materialize but as usual, CIncinnati politicians, the all too powerful and always at odds City Council were thinking small and the dream faded...like the unfinished subway Cincinnati has underground...you can see the openings to stations along Central Pkwy if you know where to look...so sad.

Wikipedia supplied a chronological list of the acts: The Crickets, featuring Buddy Holly, performed three times at the arena. First on September 11, 1957, as part of the "Biggest Show of Stars of 1957" tour. Also headlining were Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, and Lavern Baker. The Crickets played The Gardens on January 23, 1958, as part of "America's Greatest Teenage Recording Stars Tour". Finally, The Crickets headlined Alan Freed's "Big Beat" show on April 14, 1958, which also included sets from Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Frankie Lymon, The Chantels, as well as others. On August 27, 1964, The Beatles performed at the arena.[6] On November 27, 1965, the Rolling Stones performed at the arena. Diana Ross & the Supremes performed at the arena on March 10, 1968. On October 10, 1970, the Jackson 5 performed at the arena. On November 11, 1971, Elvis Presley performed at the arena.[7] On June 27, 1973, Elvis Presley again performed at the arena. On December 4, 1973, The Grateful Dead Performed at the arena. On May 17, 1985, Madonna performed at the arena with The Virgin Tour. Her only time to ever perform in Cincinnati. Bon Jovi performed in the arena on March 18 and 19, 1987. Several shots of the inside and outside of the Gardens can be seen in their "Wanted Dead or Alive" video. On November 30, 1991, Neil Young and Crazy Horse performed the "Smell the Horse" Tour. The live album WELD was recorded on this tour. The warm-up band for the evening was Sonic Youth.

So you are behind an illegal dvd release and claim copyright. If you have the original film and copyright statement from the guy who filmed please come back, or better stay silent.
