I loved Ron's story of how he wanted his wife to go to Hawaii with them and Elvis made it happen. Stories like that make me love Elvis even more, if that's possible. Great stuff. Jimmy V. is the sweetest man. I also loved hearing Spa Guy talk about getting the museum up and going, especially the paneling. If I were there, I'd ask you guys to make fliers for the Dojo and I'd pass them out all up and down "Tiger Man" Blvd. ;) Thanks, Trey, for those of us Elvis fans who can't be in Memphis for keeping us up to date!

Hello from England What a lovely guy is Ron Strauss. I loved listening to him talk about his career before Elvis and his career with Elvis. The way he talks about his life pulls you in and it makes you feel that you were there. I feel things were much simpler back then and Elvis was such a thoughtful kind person that would help everyone and made sure they were enjoying themselves and happy

Why doesn’t anyone talk about how Elvis loved singing gospel songs? That was a huge part of his life. He was called the king but Elvis made it well known that there is only one King - Jesus Christ. If you’re going to celebrate Elvis Presley talk about ALL of his life. Not just the money-making parts. No one sings his gospel songs either. Bob Joyce is the best. Nuff said.

Hey Trey, I heard the gentleman mention that the Carters were from Bristol, Virginia. Learn something new everyday as the old saying goes. I live in Bristol Tennessee. The only thing that separates Tennessee and Virginia is State Street. I live pretty close to the hotel where Elvis stayed in 76 when he played at Freedom Hall in Johnson City Tennessee. There used to be a KFC next door to the hotel. We used to live on the street behind the hotel when I was a kid. My siblings and I used to play on the bank where the ladder is that they say was for Elvis in case he needed an escape route. I really like your video of Elvis and June @ the B&B, and I like the video where Billy and you found the ambulance. The Tiger Studio is great. You and Billy keep up the good work. God Bless.

Did I hear correctly that Mr. Strauss said the Peanut Butter Sandwiches were $28 for each one? Not the whole thing? And i thought the other pilot said in an interview one time, that about 30 of them had been ordered and Elvis was offering them to the pilots, and I guess, anyone who would eat one, lol! If it was that many at $28 a pop? Wowzer, it boggles the mind, I wonder if a lot of them just ended up in the trash. Maybe that's why they were called "Fool's Gold", but I would definitely want to try a $28 peanut butter sandwich. I wonder if that's what little Lisa requested for her birthday? You would think Elvis would be the kind of guy that would prefer a big hunk of steak for that kind of money, but I heard he was always a little nervous on the plane and wouldn't eat much.

Excuse me, but to hear Billy Smith described as the closest guy to Elvis, is one of the most ignorant things I've ever heard anybody say. First of all, he was not closer to Elvis than Vernon was, and neither one of them thought much of Billy. Elvis had begun to shut out all those people that were hanging around the house at Graceland and driving him crazy, and most of his new friends were out in Los Angeles, and a lot of them were people that no one knows about, because he didn't want any of the MM to know who his new friends were, because he no longer trusted the MM. I was around some of those people at that time and Elvis was always complaining about how his family had gotten really bad about asking for money all the time, especially Billy. He said he didn't mind helping them out most of the time, but it had gotten to where they were really nickel and diming him, as he put it. We said what do you mean by that? He said Billy would ask for $100 to buy his kid a bicycle or something and Elvis would give it to him, no problem. Then he'd be back a few days later asking for another $25 cause he found it was $125. He said, you'd think they'd be thinking - gee, it was nice of cousin Elvis to give me that $100, I guess I can make up the additional $25, but no Billy was going to squeeze every last nickel and dime out of him for it, he'd be back in a few days asking for another $25. Elvis said it just felt like "no respect", he said it's like they think I just sweat it out my pores or something. He said he guessed he was too good at performing and made it look way too easy, because his family didn't seem to think he "worked" for a living. One time when he was visiting, he was talking about how tired he was of all the touring. Somebody said, well just tell them you've got to have a few weeks off and go back home to Graceland and get some rest. He said, what good would that do me, I've got as much trouble there as anywhere. He said ever since he put all those people on his property, somebody was always at the door wanting to bother him about something and the only way he could avoid them was to live in his bedroom most of the time, he actually joked that he'd just about forgotten what the place looked like. Needless to say, we were all heartbroken for him, but this is what he was going thru at the end that was weighing so heavy on him. Even his beloved Graceland was not feeling like a place of rest any more. Along with the MM scaring him, from what he told us it sounded like his family was partly to blame, too. To see Billy Smith getting celebrated as his best buddy, and praised for what he did for Elvis, is a hard thing for those of us who knew Elvis in those last years to see. Elvis was attempting to get rid of them by asking them to play racket ball, in the middle of the night, all the time. He said, soon or later Jo is going to get sick of being woken up for racket ball in the middle of the night, them I'm going to tell Billy I have to reduce his salary, and sooner or later Jo will be wanting to hit the road again. He used to tell us, "one more game, by god", and we'd all laugh, "I'm gonna get Jo in the face and it will all be over with", he was so funny about it. Elvis never lost his sense of humor about anything even when the chips were down. One of our friends used to tell him, "You work 'em son, you just keep working 'em, by god."

For me to believe any of these, I’ll need a lot more than a story..I’ll need proof to back up those claims.. as for as my statement on Billy... I’ve had about 4 of his guys that I definitely know was around Elvis all day all say that.. plus I know billy was there and lived at Graceland and was always the one with Elvis upstairs the last year or so.. he was the last guy to see Elvis the night before his death.. that’s all proof for me to know Elvis cares for Billy! you have to show me proof of who you are? I don’t know you and do you realize how many people claim to have known EP? lol I’m after the real Elvis and I don’t buy any of that stuff unless you have proof for me to look into.. who are you? How did you know Elvis? Did you live at Graceland? Let me know and give me proof because I’ll continue to say Billy Smith was perhaps the closest guy to Elvis Presley by what people I know was there all have said.
