Who else in 1981 could've totally carried off a cape like Adam Ant did? The look was so new and fresh. And the music was great! This song entered the British charts at #1 and stayed there for five weeks! Long Live ADAM AND THE ANTS!!

And I also agree that just because lip-synching is being used, it takes nothing away from Adam's massive on-stage persona and incredible talent. He always was, and still is, one of the greatest showmen in the music industry: his performance here proves that, lip-synching or not, he has talent, energy, style, class and elegance which most artists can only dream of possessing.

I actually remember watching this very episode back in 1981 when I was just 13. We'd never seen anything like it - I was totally mesmerized!! This recording is better than others i have seen on Utube. The sound is closer to the power of the song as i remember it. Good base. Most of the other examples i have listened too on Utube are tinny accentuating the voice of the singers and undermining the instruments.

AATA always were a class act. They did get a unfair hard time and the genius all-round great sound look and freshness never got the accolade it deserved. Sooo unfair I believe cos they were a good looking bunch of guy the 'industry' took a dislike to them. I think now though the music and the men are being appreciated more. I'm 44 still love ANTMUSIC and The man himself. AM4SP

"Adam & the Ants" are a very funny "Punk`n´Wave" Band! I do like them very much! In the Year 1978/79 i heard them at the first time, on one of our "Schoolpartys", (Kiel, Germany) as a little 13/14Years old Teenie! The song: "Stand & Diliver" had animated me, to be one of the first ones, going on the "Danceflour" during this time! It had been a wounderful Party, "Blondie- Heart of Glass", "Gary Numan- Are friends electric?", etc.!! ;O)...:O)...

Great was the time later when tv eventually gave over to musician's wishes to actually perform live. You could usually see more disasters in the miming than if they were actually messing up the song. These guys played a huge pioneering part in the introduction of music videos by trying to get the production to increase the budget for a song
