I always label my attachments so it is easier to find them either by the recipients or by me. I do respond to others once I receive their emails with an estimate when it is expected to get it delivered. Only through this channel and from one Leadership Course; I learned NOT to send an email awhile I'm out of mood. Thank you much.

I feel like they should teach these tips in school - you learn so much about writing but when it comes to writing a simple email you can get really stumped! Going to use your last tip and label my attachments from now on... I never even thought of doing that but it sounds so much more efficient!

Loved this video. I definitely use the "add the email address last" now after also personally experiencing sending an unfinished email accidentally. Also love having emails come in with a clear and relevant subject line.

Using bold and anything to get attention works best. We also like the subject line idea. Gary Vee always says to put the entire email in the subject line if you want someone to read it. Never tired it but it could work :) Not for every day but interesting idea for when you need it.

Sending unfinished email is my worst nightmare. I also usually add emails at last!

@2:59 this rule is so true, I had a previous manager email unfavorable comments of a subordinate (the employee was copied on the email reply all) and the manager was demoted to another team and eventually terminated).

DON'T USE ALL CAPS. ;) I'm loving that Google is now "nudging" when you don't give/get a response in a certain time frame.

If you are emailing overseas, don't use exclamation points. We use it as being excited. They think you are yelling at them. Learned this while living overseas!

I'm astonished by how many businesses in my small city don't respond to emails at all. If I don't get any response quite quickly, I'm moving on to the next business who will (hopefully) be more responsive.

My best advice would be, that you should always be aware of whom you're communicating with. There are cultures (mostly South American ones) in which it isn't expected to answer a Mail within a day, where an out-of-office note for a single day will be considered unnatural, and so on. For Central Europeans and Northern Americans, I wouldn't object to anything you said.

Thanks so much for watching. Yes, cultures also play a part in email etiquette and should be adjusted for specific work cultures. One thing that always helps me, no matter the culture I work in, is I treat email as a form of communication and try to evaluate each email as either general info (reply may/may not be needed and there is no urgency to reply) or questions that need answers (I will reply within a specific timeline- as I don't want to be a roadblock for anyone needing to do their work).
