He looked perfectly fine! I don't know WTF some people expect from a transplant, no one on the street would have even guessed he had a transplant, or two. He's completely lost in his own mind about it. People expect way too much from a transplant. Yes his results weren't ideal, but i've seen a million times worse. In my opinion if you went from a state of being bald to having hair where there previously wasn't, that's already a success. Of course we can debate on artistry and perfect grafting but the end result is having hair, is it not?? Some people will never be happy.. I know thousands of bald guys would kill for those "botched" results. Cry me a river dude.

@@amazoner0cksthe first one was in Turkey. A repair attempt was made in the UK which in fact made things worst. Dr Ball at the Maitland clinic in Portsmouth repaired the collective bad work over two individual days. The hair may have looked good to begin with on the TV show, but this was hidden by SMP and across the room shots. The TV show failed (in my opinion)at showing clearly the issues outlined by DR Ball. It also failed to highlight and actually explain the repair process and timeline. In seems to suggest it was all done in a day. This is not true. It was two days, 6 months apart, with around 300 grafts per day. It took all day to remove the grafts because they were so poorly placed in completely unnatural directions. You can only imagine how much care and effort was put in for such a small amount of grafts. Given some clinics state they can do 4000 in a day.

This is me in the video. Let me clarify a few things. Firstly I’m very happy with my Hair after Dr Balls repair. It has been quite a while since this show and it looks natural. Even more so the relief of stress has resulted in a much slower rate of native hair loss. I couldn’t be happier. About ny first transplant in Turkey. I walked in and a doctor just drew a line and showed me a mirror. I immediately said it’s too low. (I have done a lot of research and knew the risk with going too low) So he drew another line, further up which we agree on. I was then chucked in a room with what appeared to be teenagers and the work started. Once finished, they showed me a mirror and then I saw they did the original line. So from the start I never got the hairline I Agreed! After the scabs come off I could immediately see the poor density per cm2. Hence why I took a photo with a tape measure at the forehead. the grafts at the front were multi graphs. Like I mentioned I did my research and I knew that this would result in the plug look appearance. Which it did! I then went to a U.K. clinic and the doctor said he could repair it, but instead only thickens the hairline. No option to remove the graphs and like DR Ball did. Again the U.K. based clinic ended up with a similar feeling to Turkey. One doctor over several rooms and a team of very young technicians. Not a single microscope used or in sight. When I asked how many graphs were used etc. they looked at me in confusion. Once it started to grow, hairs growing in unnatural directions, thick multi-graphs at the front, sporadic density. I knew I was done. I shaved my head and went for SMP. SMP actually gave it such a good coverage and look that the hair looked great from a few feet away. But up close you could see with absolutely no doubt, it was botched. This is what Dr Ball repaired and for that I am very greatful. Believe me when I say, those that think it looked great before, the SMP did this. But the low hairline is never what I wanted. Dr Ball did what I wanted and I only wear a hat the odd day for choice. Not to Hide. This is just a cutdown version of my journey. This is just a cutdown version of my journey. I’ve added an email to my channel description for those who wish to message outside of social media. I know many people are in similar or worst situations. Happy to help in any way I can.
@RyugaChan
@RyugaChan 11 ай бұрын
So basically you got a lower hairline with less density than a more mature hairline with proper density. That's good to know, the problem with this clinics in Turkey is that they transplant an insane number of grafts in one single mega session which not only increases risk of infection and requires more anesthesia, but also takes more from your donor area than probably needed. So you end up with less resources if your alopecia keeps moving forward and you need a second transplant. This will probably be seen more in 10-20 years from now when people that got a transplant there are now getting bald in the mid scalp or crown and need another transplant but the donor area is not gonna be suitable for it. I went to a clinic and would transplant no more than 3k grafts per session. So if you need another procedure you need to wait, heal up and get it done, maybe it's a more conservative approach but it does future proof your donor area. That's something to consider. Thanks for sharing bro!
@P-lc6sc
@P-lc6sc 11 ай бұрын
@@RyugaChan couldn’t agree more. Need to be conservative with grafts. People have no idea how extensive their hair loss will be as they age. Going for a low teenage to early 20s hairline is a huge mistake.

I think this is a person who is never satisfied. I look at this first result and think "I would like to look this good." I will be looking for my Turkey clinic real soon for a test run. My temples are gone, but my crown is non existent. Got an empty space the size of my fist and been this way for almost 10 years now. I know I will never get great density back there, so I am just going to take back the hairline an inch or two first, fill in the temples (Lightly) and see how it looks. I know I've got good doner hair in the back, but also a thick full beard and lost of long body hair, front, back legs arms you name it. So if the transplant looks good first time round, and I want to fill in the rest, I will go for it. Been putting this off too long now. And at 41, I think its now or never.

Hi Dr Gary, what would you do if your patient had a skin tag that was along the area where you wanted to implant a graft? I have a skin tag and I’m worried about how that would work. Should I get it removed by a dermatologist first? Thank you!

It seems like the technical skills for doing the transplant is just part of what a surgeon needs - they also need to understand the art of making the transplant look good and natural. There's so much that goes into plastic surgery that I had never even thought about!

Hey doc, I have a question. So I have hyperhidrosis which is an excessive sweating condition. And I believe that some of the active sweat glands can be found on my temporal/forehead area. I plan on getting a FUE but do you think it would be an issue with my condition again causing hair loss with my transplant?

I can see the technical issues here with the harshness of the line and the directions of the hairs - but I think the revision moved it back a lot. It's personal wants really, but a bit lower isn't unnatural, many guys in their 30s don't have their hairlines as far back as they revised it to. Mine is closer to his before revision and I'm almost 38 now.

Hi! Would you happen to know why minoxidil needs to be applied to a dry scalp? Every other topical cosmetic product has better absorbption with damp skin. Thoroughly confused why we can't apply it directly after a shower. Thanks to anyone who can give the chemical reason why.

So, what do you guys recommend for hairloss prevention, I'm 21 and don't have any signs of alopecia whatsoever, but how do I avoid losing hair at all so I don't have to go through a hair transplant in the future?

First, thanks for all your videos ! It's quite reassuring. One question for you : Is hair transplantation compatible with androgentic alopecia ? Or the implanted hair will also fall down ?
@sianmilne4879
@sianmilne4879 Жыл бұрын
They use hair from areas that aren't as affected by androgenic alopecia (usually from the back of your head), so they are unlikely to be affected but I think still can be in rare cases. I'm not a doctor though, just going off of my memory of what he has said before 🤷

matching the density of the hair that's still there seems pretty important. Instead of attempting to make a new hairline, it seems better to work out from the existing hair line and matching density and stopping when you run out of hairs for that treatment

If your hairline is to low you can always shave it or get laser. That being said he probably should've gone for fixing the patchy spots first. I really liked his hairline it created a younger look. His temples weren't weak. I can't believe he wore a hat for that or hated it so much he needed corrective hairline surgery.

Quite the odd repair case. The hairline was not even that low.. It could also have been masked by placing single hair grafts right around it, and he could've rocked a NW1 looking hairstyle. My other concern is what they did with the grafts taken out.. Hopefully they were put to good use. They are a precious, finite resource.

this guy has body dismorphia, his hairline looks good, no need to scar himself on the forehead. Imo this doctor agreeing with him and going ahead is more questionable than the previous doctor's work, and actually his hairline looks worse in the "after", he looked perfect before and now he has a typical "balding" hairline.
