Generative artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT can create an essay at the click of a button. Some educators are making rules around the ethical use of such tools, while others are banning it altogether.

This story and issue is far too late. The market has already made the decision for good or bad. All we can do now is adapt and react. Students might as well get used to AI because soon it will be replacing all the jobs they hoped to have.

You can't "ban" it just like you can't ban the internet. All around the world countries are working on it ther ace is on to see who will make the most powerful one.

Grades don't mean knowledge anymore. Get rid of the grading system and just make sure people know how to get the accurate information and proper research steps is more important for future jobs.

How would the teachers show that the student completed the assignment and how well they completed it? Grades are not the problem, its how kids are taught. "Read this, remember it, write it down" That's school in a nutshell.

@@SA-ks9vz You still have to show and document it. If one student paper is great and the next is just ok, how to do show this without grades? Try thinking next time.

@@drink15 There are several schools in my area that don't grade and their ability to ace the SAT is 40% higher than the schools that grade. Before saying I should think, look in a bloody mirror. Sheesh the stupidity!

If I recall right there was a news story that went out earlier this year saying we had higher grades. That our children and university and college students are getting higher marks how do you think that happened the internet and AI are doing the work

I like the comments. The humans have already given up. Ai has won the war. We still live in a culture of having to have everything we have created with no ability to self regulate. Failed short lived species.
