Embracing Desire

Some of reach back into ascetic traditions that regard desire as an obstacle to spiritual development, while others reach back into Tantric traditions that regard desire as a vehicle of spiritual ascent. This talk considers the role of desire in modern Hatha Yoga, which is a yoga for householders, and explains why desire is an essential force.
This is the third talk in the "What is Hatha Yoga?" Series, given in prelude for Into the Depths, my yearlong immersion in yoga philosophy. The next round of this immersion starts May 28.

Well that explains a lot! The existential impoverishment and isolation. And Shakti the feminine expressing herself to be seen, heard, felt, experienced as a metaphor for consciousness becoming self aware. All very intuitive and experiential knowledge and so hard to describe in words. Such a well done talk. Thank you for putting this on you tube and sharing these deeper truths.
