With affinity you could potentially play ulamog or anything else as early as turn three if you are lucky. Turn one bridge/ mana crypt, turn two mana vault/ sol ring l/ mox opal, turn three mycosynth latus/golem, turn four win. Note I'm not counting whatever you might have drawn but assuming that you drop a few one or less MC Artifacts you can probably play your entire deck from there on. What makes it so much better is with the correct cards you basically completely disable your opponent(s).

New eldamri can *potentially* play new ulamog turn 3. Turn 1 forest and any 1 cost mana dork for green. Turn 2 play second forest and eldamri. Turn 3 play any 2 drop creature and as long as ulamog is in hand or top of deck we can play him right then and there.

Ive been getting ulamogs out turn 4 for a while now. Simic Gyruda ramp and pray you hit ulamog which is easy when you every creature flickers or copies your gyruda.

What you're missing is that Captivating Crew (and a whole lot of other cards) lets you avoid sacrificing your own stuff altogether.

I think my favorite thing instead is as a mono-red dragon commander. Because copies keep their mana value, molten echoes lets you get a lot of value from emerging subsequently larger dragons from the copies of your smaller ones.

Turn two mana rock, turn three sad robot, turn 4 land, you’ll have 5 lands so you can affinity for 1, emerge for 2, and then have THREE mana spare. Easily cast Emrakul, the Promised End!

Turn 2 Ulamog and Marit Lage Turn 1: Play a Swamp and with it play Sol Ring Turn 2: Play Dark Depths (land) and then with your 3 mana play Mutated Cultist. When you cast Mutated Cultist, it takes off all ice counters from Dark Depths turning the land into Flying Indestructible 20/20 Marit Lage. Next spell costs 10 mana less because of the 10 ice counters removed. Cast Ulamog for free on the same turn. Voila, you basically just won the game

I was doing this on my pre release, played black red, had low cost artifacts, played the rat artifact that makes your opponents discard a card and then played hellkite then ulamog the turn after, had one game where turn 5 I played both, I won all games on the pre release

Im assuming that this is talking about commander? If so, this is meh. Kaalia can consistently cheat out massive threats by turn 4 and Kinnan starts ignoring mana costs by turn 3

TBH, Herigaast is a deck that feels very underwhelming for what it does. Mono-Red/Colorless big stuff has been done before and it just never hits right. Even with the cool eldrazi tech, it feels Like Herigaast just won't be what its hyped up as.
