I served in the Army National Guard. Several soldiers in the first unit I served in had SECRET clearances! And that was 20+ years ago. 🤫

Just sharing my husband's comments on the present moment as secret clearances are only given now if the person has a direct need for one bc they cost a lot of money and resources. The likelihood that a SGT would be granted one now is low bc they have no need unless they are in a MOS where they are transmitting messages and in this case the person would be court marshaled for sharing this info and would not risk that. If they did share it I would suggest the info they gave is not likely credible bc the solider themself isn't trustworthy. In fact 3 years ago my husband was due for an updated clearance and they suspended all of them bc they didn't have the budget or manpower to do them. Just adding to the conversation.

Told last night that he was in the Wisconsin National Guard now saying he’s a Sargent and sharing top secret intelligence, I don’t think I would be saying anything else.

He shouldn’t have allowed the Sergeant to communicate with him through electronic means, as this would be a breach of confidence and a criminal act on the part of the recipient of the briefing, if the briefing was classified the disclosure of any of the contents is unlawful, thats why we have a classification system. Even the small amount of information that was disclosed on this video can be used to harm national security and the NCO should be discharged from the military before he spills any more secrets.

It is also a violation of the confidence that was entrusted to that particular NCO to keep the information secret. Either A, someone pretending to be a Sergeant contact Greg and disclosed this information to him, at which point he has an obligation to deal with the security breach himself, B someone did in fact disclose classified information (even the fact of having received the briefing should be kept under wraps), or Greg is making it up, none of those scenarios are good. Easiest thing to do would be to take the video down.
