have you considered the possibility that it overheats becasue there is silicone in the coolant passages becasue some dumb kid smeared silicone on every part there is, or that sb put (to much) silicone on a replacement head gasket its a former army vehicle after all and young kids often think sealant silicone makes everything better

Mike, I think you did a pretty fair job of backpedaling to correct the situation to show that C&C are not devious in their business practices. It is sometimes a fine line between actually being ripped off, or just thinking you are being ripped off. And anybody that will be honest has to admit that we have all at some time pointed an accusing finger unfairly in the heat of the moment. Good that you put them and your meeting out in public.
@shitloveaduck

This is just in regards to the interview with C&C. I worked law enforcement for just over 30 years and was pretty good at reading people’s body language. Both fellas were clearly blocking Mike, but they were still probably a bit annoyed he didn’t call them and aired his annoyances (I think justifiably so, I was also a rancher and equipment issues are hard on ya) on KZfaq, a unique situation indeed after seeing them speaking I can say they were definitely being truthful. I believe them. I watch KZfaq and like the format, but this brought a very distinct issue. It’s one thing to air you annoyances to you staff and acquaintances, maybe a couple dozen people, but to say your annoyances openly on KZfaq notifies those people and potentially over 100,000 OTHER people. That puts you in the position to maybe need to edit your videos a little more as any KZfaqr, not just Dirt Perfect. That or you better be 100% sure if your situation. C&C are a bit of a lifeline for Mike right now and it would be crazy to cut that line,,,,,. Mike is a great guy and I am impressed, but not surprised, he did post his results of the discussion with C&C. Very impressed really, because those two were still a bit frustrated (ok a lot frustrated). They got to defend their actions and removed the issue. Over the years I went through my fair share of sh*tty employees, a lot of them, I understand some of the collateral damage that can come along. I would deal with that dealership. They could legally say too bad, so sad, and do nothing, and that’s not at all what they are doing. I have always said, when you buy used, there’s a reason that used machine is on the lot and you could be buying other people problems. Too bad those problems were not disclosed to the dealership,,,,,,,. You are a good man Mike. Well done. With that machine in the shop you can believe they will go over the machine with a fine toothed comb as well as do their d*mndest to fix the issue. You saved what appears to be a good business relationship. You and the crew, take care of yourselves and be safe, Eh!
@traindriva
@traindriva 2 жыл бұрын
You don't need to have been in law enforcement to see the reticence in the two fellows from the dozer dealership. It was a very uncomfortable situation quite plainly. Like everyone of us at some point Mike made a mistake but unlike many he took ownership. That's setting a good example. In truth he could have taken greater ownership by stating categorically that he shouldn't have voiced his displeasure 'on air'. Nevertheless it was still a reasonable effort.
@shitloveaduck
@shitloveaduck 2 жыл бұрын
@@traindriva - You would be surprised how many times I make a comment on body language and don’t mention Law Enforcement and get challenged on what I see as far as body language goes. You are definitely someone who sees body language as clearly as hearing these guys speak due to your communication skills and common sense. Your skills are disappearing along with some common sense out there. I try to be objective, but that career does make you a little jaded, no matter how hard you try. I think Mike is a good guy and it is a great thing he made that portion of the video. He probably struggled with it, but I agree with you and he is a better person for owning up to it. It’s getting to be the first thing you encounter when someone makes an error it is a not me attitude or they will throw their closest friend or even family under the bus!! A big reason for my retirement, plus I know I am getting just old and crotchety!!! Hahaha.

Non contact thermal gun for checking temperature is a great tool for diagnostic. Sometimes oil cooler coolant passages get clogged and oil runs hot causing overheating or radiator needs Rodded to unblock passages. SCA coolant additives are critical to keep coolant in great shape. Cavitation or air in coolant systems will destroy engines causes cracks and pitting on cylinder liners and will put holes in liners. Coolant test strips are good to use to check coolant condition.

Great job Mike. Part 2 video confirms all the hats needed in your line of work and another reason why your job is so important.. It takes a Dirt Doctor to make it “Dirt Perfect”……lol… That hillside was bleeding and you came in and packed the wound. I totally agree that it’s not a pond leak but either a natural spring or field run off from above the pond. Saying that, I’m curious if the source of the water can be diverted into the pond with an overflow installed.

You also have military equipment that is in DEPO Storage (emergency surplus use) that will be auctioned off if it reaches a certain age, isn't rotated into the fleet for peace time, or pulled for wartime use. They may be brand new or were completely rebuilt/upgraded, but after sitting for so long age and lack of use problems will occur.

Speaks well of you and your business to give the company who sold you the dozer to speak to the issue at hand. It speaks well of the company (C&C) to recognize and correct the issue ( proactive) and keep working on the issues to give the customer a good product in the end. It is, at this point, not about money, it is about getting the customer a machine they can produce with and get his customer satisfied, money can come into the discussion after the heat of battle has passed.it’s always about customer satisfaction honesty and integrity, that’s why I watch you guys. Doing a radiator and water pump on a Deere engine today if the parts arrive. Beauty of it, if the pump seal goes it wipe's out the crank bearings. Good reason why you check oil every start up. Deere had one radiator in their inventory, repairing equipment in 2021 has been interesting.

Mike, A non-contact thermometer to verify the temperature verses what the gauge shows is the first place I'd look. Second would be the pressure cap on the system and that the correct pressure rating cap is being used. Third, check the resistance of the temperature sending unit. Fourth, check the oil cooler for functionality and what the oil temperature reads against the non-contact thermometer. Finally, that there is a wetting agent added (Water Wetter) to the cooling system to reduce cavitation caused by the water pump. Foamy water doesn't allow for proper heat exchange between the cylinder liners and coolant. I've had very bad luck with using an acid based coolant system flush, as it appears to open up any weak spots in the radiator and heater core. I've been using Cascade machine dishwasher detergent. It will remove lime and calcium as well as any residual oils in the system. Run a mixture of cleaner and water for 30-45 minutes, drain, flush with clean water. Is there a coolant filter on the system? The filters besides filtering crud also slowly release a wetting agent to reduce cavitation.

Did an excellent job on this dam repair. You was over doing it which is really good. It's better to do it that way and not have anymore issues rather than do just what needs to be done to make it will work. The bigger the plug in a failed dam the better I think. The pipe is an excellent idea too so it catches that water out of the hill the dam ties into and keeps it from possibly saturating what you're putting back. I think like y'all that the seam of course material was the problem letting water from that hill saturate the back slope of the pond dam. Getting that course vein out especially, putting that large plug or secondary core in, and the drain pipe is the best things that could be done to fix this problem and don't see how or why it would fail again. From my experience in grading and seeing how other dirt technicians do this type of work, I'd say it's fixed and they'll have no more issues with the dam. If they do I'd advise them to put the pond somewhere else. LOL! Awesome video. Stay well. -Wil 👍

I am running WAY WAY behind in videos… winter is biting my booty an the big rush to get 2 million things button up before freezing and thawing = nasty dirt conditions…. It fear not I will get caught back up !!! On the dam?? I am thinking maybe some hydraulic push on the original base an Possibly a run under an around the original key way.. only reason I say that is I have seen it once an We wound up digging The old key way out an lowering it 12 more feet an we found out the original contractor did not compact the original keyway in lifts… basically they figured Mother Nature an weight would do the compacting… but been ??? Had to figure it up been 26 years since we re did it an she hasn’t moved or spring a leak… I am a “” tad”” nervous about the leach tile .. your 100% spot on !! if you keep the soil dry it can’t water log An move…. But also a tile will not only draw but it can actually suck .. so I am a tad unsure about the end result as to the pond level.. But I have no concerns whatsoever to the soil moving again coz if It can not soup up it will not move.. hydronic pressure is a very difficult to pinpoint. But I think your plan of attack should work.. an I was like 0.0 WHERE DID THAT DOZER COME FROM??0.0 lol that’s what happens when you get behind on watching videos.. but I have seen brand spanking new equipment have hair pulling problems.. so used ya got to expect a few bumps in the road.. my Late grandfather was always saying to me … Son the first thing you have to do when you buy something used is to ask yourself why did the previous owner get rid it… lol Grandfather words always comes back in my head when ever I am looking over a piece of used Equipment or vehicles… ((edited fur a few small spell boo boos))

I had a very similar thing happen to me this summer. I purchased a used EC 250D Volvo excavator and it had a lot of work done to it at the Volvo dealer in Ontario. The fun started less that 3 hours after it was delivered to my job site. It started throwing emission codes and would not do a regeneration. Long story short the dealer sent the field mechanic out three times and he finally determined that it needed a wiring harness replaced. They decided it would be best to take the machine back to there shop 4 hours away and do the work there so they brought me a brand new EC 200E as a loaner to use while my machine was getting fixed. 3 weeks later they sent it back and picked up the loaner. It ended up they had to replace 2 wiring harnesses and while they had it they replaced the rear main crankshaft seal because it was leaking. The moral of my story is there are good dealers out there that want to make things right and that is what good customer service is all about. It sure makes me feel good when I hear a story like this. I’m sure they will get it figured out for you.

I’ve been an operator for years but never built a pond and I have heard about a material that comes in big one or two ton super bags that can be spread on the lining of ponds that don’t have very good clay content.

As I recall there was a problem with the blade dropping and then jumping hard when it was raised. Has that been addressed? Major operation on the dam repair. Nice work. Hope all problems get resolved, looks like a good company to deal with. Thanks for sharing.

I had that same issue of one running hot.. I spent a lot of money changing small parts to find out the radiator had about 1/4 of it was clogged up with gunk.. Seems the prior owner had leaking issues and he used every homemade fix and fracked it up by clogging it.. When I replaced mine, I got one with larger tanks to hold more fluid, It never run above 170* after that.. Great episode, very informative, entertaining & educational... You got also to remember, where it was previously used and never know what they did to it..

I call the surface soil as in Top soil. I call under that dirt and rock. The top is soil since it has been soiled by plant and animal. Tile is great - it will dry the dam and not allow it to get mushy under the dam.

It’s hard to tell in the video if it’s white slip clay but if it is water can’t penetrate it and everything above it will usually slip if water and an incline are present. Great Video

Nice fallow up with C&C Equipment. They look like a stand up company. NYA about the 850 racing. I would stand in front of Mike. He might play, he would dug you out of the pile. Jerry would dig you out only after work that day.

It's easy to be a good business when everything goes right. But the sign of a great business is how they handle when things go wrong. I'm impressed with how those guys are handling things. Just like you're back at the damn fixing things, they picked up the dozer and are fixing that.

Building benches, cutting key ways, installing drains…. If one didn’t know better he’d think you had a crew of carpenters, machinists and plumbers working on that job! Mikey… This little repair job is turning into a full blown pond build!
