1. bride kidnapping is a tradition of the north what might have happened to jon's parents so the north and the targs both have that tradition???. 2. the wierwood face was crying with the queen 3. the gay lover guy looks very much like the faceless man and sounds like him... so they could have sent his body to the braavos city and the faceless men took his face/body 4. mushroom has always been in the series/scenes but not shown like in the (tv show black irish) in the books its said he's overlooked. 5. lemon tree's lemongate hype in the background two lemon tree's while talking about a northern tree that shouldn't be down south

Did anyone else do a "HOW?!" when it showed Viserys still alive in the next episode? Considering Aemond and Daeron aren't born yet in episode 5, that means he also sired 2 more children during that 10 year period as well. 🤯

I think that is why we saw the assistant to the maester saying he had a remedy that would be more effective, right in front of the king's hand... I am assuming they will pay that off as the way how Viseris survives that long .

Daemon has always been about the purity of Valyrian Bloodlines . That's why when people said that he would harm Laena at the wedding feast I just scoffed. Daemon has never had any intention to harm anyone of Targaryen or Valyrian blood. He was insulted originally by his wedding to his Beautiful Vale wife, which he killed in s1 ep5. Even if it was not his Niece Rhaenera, He would have been satisfied with Laena , his Cousin bethroved even at 12 as she was the offering in s1 ep 2 to his brother the King.Daemon considers it an Insult if he is Not given a Consort/wife of Valyrian bloodstock. Daemon at least is Loyal to Family. It is Well Established prior to this Both Cousins Daemon Targaryen and Laenor Valeryon brought a Great Victory . Daemon's Dragon was nowhere to be seen on this episode. Daemon, actually Loves Family. You can only hurt a Valyrian like so many times.. dragon riders or just common folk Valyrian.

I have to say, I'm not super keen on Emma based on the clip I have seen (not this trailer, the "summoned" clip). Hoping she will grow on me but I thought Milly was awesome and really wish she could have kept playing the role. Obviously that's impossible, and also this is just one guy's opinion, it counts for nothing! Olivia, I have no doubts about.

Alicent's audicity of being late (disrespect while stepping into her rank as Queen ) in her green dress was a great scene. That tension was such a good symbolism to mark the end of her friendship with Rhaenyra. Deamon flirting with his other niece, Rhaenyra lowkey being jealous etc. This trailer with the kids, the older versions of Ali.. Rhae.. and episode 5 speak volumes, we're in for a ride 🔥🐲 lol House of the Dragon is getting better every episode, i love it. PS. Thanks for these awesome breakdowns Charlie.💜

I can’t help but see SooOOooo many parallels to GOT. Cerci vs. Alicent: both manipulated by their fathers to marry a king in love with a “dead girl”, both genuinely tried to love said kings, both then alienated from their fathers by both fathers’ power-lust, and both PROMPTLY started playing the game of thrones VERY well, with the understanding of the power of secrets…. And With VERY powerful secrets about the king’s “heirs.” Now let’s consider Daemon: He’s the love child of Jaime and Tyrion Lannister. Extremely close to the present/“on-the-way-out” rulers, Proud, privileged, foreign whore (seriously…. Listen to her and TELL me you don’t hear Shae 😆), all the while the best and most loyal knight (despite his traitorous reputation), and even through all the personality flaws actually has the interest of the REALM in his Longterm view of what the realm NEEDS! (Tyrion vouching for Danny/Jaime killing Cersi to ensure she can’t continue to reign King’s Landing) Aaaaaaaannnnnd… not for nothing but…. @@kingtarly499 Not dragon fights. Not super short clips of dragons in the distances and wide shots. Up close interactions would be nice. Haven't had that yet aside from barely 10 seconds in Episode 1. GoT we got tons of shots of Daenarys and her dragons and each scene was atheist 40 seconds long. We haven't had more than 10-20 seconds of dragon time. 5 episodes in... Yet this was the showrunners marketing ploy..."more dragons". Where? Few second long cameos? Aside from the lack of dragons, the show is great but I'm disappointed

This is kind of the opposite of a “favorite” moment, but after seeing footage of Rhaenyra’s children I wish even more that they would have kept Princess Rhaenys black hair. Not only would it have made it more believable that Rhaenyra & Leanor actually think they can fool people that those are their legitimate children, but its also a fun tie in to GOT with the whole Baratheon “seed is strong” thing.

I think we all watch the same trailer, by indication of it her and Daemon did produce children together. People underestimate Daemon, he is all about Family and Valyrian Bloodlines purified together. That's why I'm pretty sure that him and Laena his cousin produced children together if that was her.

Aegon the conquerors mother was a Valeryon & I’m sure his son by rhaenys was married to a valeryon. It made political sense for Viserys to marry Laena Valeryon. Every one of his advisors advised him to do it & he chose desire over duty

The brunet kids of Rhaenyra's are definitely Harwin Strong's. When she came back from her adventure with Ser Cole, walking bloodied and with her dead boar, Strong was standing with his brother Larys and Strong gave Rhaenyra that "look" of attraction.

She can’t say no if he he calls her to his bedchamber. So I don’t know that it shows she’s dedicated to furthering her line as much as it shows that she a wife that does as commanded. But most wives in this show and the time and place it’s based from feel it’s their duty to bed their husband whenever he wants. Regardless of what he looks like or what his health or hygiene is like, they must do their duty.

Possibly. But, it’s also possible that she didn’t have a choice. Her job, according to Westeros society, is to produce heirs and satisfy the king’s sexual needs. He could probably set her aside for refusing to have sexual relations with him. She would never let that happen. If she got effectively banished, she wouldn’t be in the Red Keep to protect her children, anymore.

I know that the characters in the show act as though Rhaenyra's children may be bastards but any child of a Targaryen is a Targaryen, even bastards. And in Westeros the monarch can legitimize any bastard and give them their family name. Rhaenyra, as the named heir, could legitimize her children even if they are not her husband's offspring and even if they're considered bastards.

The high lords of the land will not look kindly to the prospect of their future being governed by people who do not look like Targaryens at all. It was the Targaryens that they bowed to, and even if Rhaenyra legitimizes them, the high lords will still not be happy because they know that they are bastards, and we already know how bastards are treated in Westeros.

@@topclips1872 : Rhaenys Targaryen is Jaehaerys I's granddaughter from his oldest son Aemon. Viserys is his oldest grandchild from Prince Baelon. So Rhaenys and Viserys are cousins, not aunt and nephew. Why the show made it more confusing, I don't know.

I'm curious about Jacaerys "Jace" Velaryon, in the books his characters are like Robb Stark, i think. Esp after his father's death he took care about the safety about his family, esp his younger brothers even his half-brothers. Jace even became friends with Lord Cregan Stark and made an oath of brotherhood. He will be an interesting character like Robb although he would also meet a tragic end

I always thought scenes from when they were younger, and older would parallel with each other throughout the show. It would have been interesting to have a scene where they are enemies in contrast with scenes during better times throughout each episode.

Could be a number of reasons. Laenor and her did have that agreement and who knows maybe they did try since they talked about doing their duty and they seemed to get along but Laenor just couldnt bring himself to do it. Also, hes holding Rhaenyra's baby in one scene so clearly hes not that upset. But still I agree, not a great situation for her.

Ser Cristen becomes a super terrible person. Rhaenyra never has a sexual relationship with her husband as he isn’t interested in women and that’s just not the agreement they have. As her mother though the kids still have Targaryen blood and can be legitimatized by her regardless.

In the book, Daemon does marry Rhaenyra and has 2 blond hair children, "Aegon lll" and Viserys ll. This is why Daemon was loyal to her claim to the throne. Daemon and Caraxes' fight to the death with Aemond and Vhagar will be truly epic!!

My guess is it'll have something to do with the step stones. They don't have an rumors of Vhagar so it's not likely that Vhagar is in the west. So my guess is that she will accompany them into the step stones to deal with issues there and a wild Vheagar will bond with her there in the east where Vheagar is likely to be.

Im guessing people didnt want to bother with 8-10 seasons again and rightfully so, the pacing may be too fast for some but I think its kinda great that stuff doesnt get dragged along unnecessarily. Also fire and blood on which this show is fast was moving at a much faster pace than the show is so I think they're doing great. Also, even if they go at this rapid pace there is still enough content to drag the show to I believe 10 seasons since there are THAT much Targaryen Kings and Dragons and stuff to cover.

Joffery was the lover, Rhaenyras kid and the Baratheon bastard... both Jofferys are bastards. Ugh the timeliness is all messed up though because Jon Snow is Aegon the 6th... so 4 other Aegons in a little over 150 years? Doesn't make sense. And the depletion of the Dragons... in GOT they had long withered and grown small and sick and died off. 162 years isn't enough for that. Great show though.

Danny said that it happened hundreds of years ago, not 160 years ago and that it took hundreds of years to happen. Also, is the Aegon in this is the 2nd how were there 3 more Aegons in 160 years? The only discrepency I have an issue with on the show is the fact that Rhaenyra's children come out with dark hair due to their father not being a Valeryon. However, Alicent (who also has BROWN hair) has children with perfect white blonde hair? Thats not how genetics work.. She should also have children with dark hair due to it being a dominant gene. So it doesn't make sense to me that there is this big difference in how the kids look for the different Targaryon families when 2 of the families should have children with dark hair. The only one that makes sense is Laena and Daemon's kids having white blonde hair due to BOTH of them having the gene for it.

I mean from the perspective of the people of the realm if a war occurred it'll kill thousands of people. Rhaenyra taking the throne would cause a war garenteed as pretty much everyone keeps saying. Alicent is merely avoiding a war, pushing her own son's claim that is well supported, and not being weak. I would support Rhaenyra if she seemingly gave an ounce of shit about the people, the kingdom, or her duty. She seemingly doesn't at all and just wants all the freedom men enjoy with none of the burden of duty men also have. Her father has had to remind her twice now of the song of ice and fire because she is selfish and keeps forgetting. Even Daemon of all people tells her she should respect the people and their perspective. There is a reason that dagger ends up falling into obscurity and the secret dies. It's because Rhaenyra doesn't take it seriously.

Just because he's gay doesn't mean that Laenor can't father a child. I thought the agreement between Laenor and Rhaenyra was that they'd sleep together enough times to produce some heirs and then sleep with whomever they want. But Rhaenyra evidently didn't even try to pretend that she was having kids by her husband. I thought she was supposed to be so smart.

I read the book so fast it's hard to keep things straight. The lineages and names are so similar. The whole "Strong boys" and the Strong influence deal sparks my interest more than it did while reading the book. Makes me want to re read this portion of the book again.

Genetics don't work like that. Genetics aren't just a perfect blend they're a grab bag of dominant and recessive traits. Black people come in a range of shades and often have recessive traits popping up generations later. In a very simplified form, think of it like there being a bunch of different marbles in a bag of four different colors all with traits from a grandparent. Every time you draw one it corresponds to a trait for the child's genetic material. In short yes, it is entirely realistic and possible that Laen's and Daemons children come out looking black and not necessarily mixed.

The time jumps are getting out of hand. Helaena Targaryen is probably 10 in ep 6 and then 20 in Ep 7. The actress playing Helaena (Phia Saban) is 24 while the new Alicent (Olivia Cooke) is 28. How is that going to play out?

I hope we see both younger and older versions of the actors in the same episode at the start, maybe show them age with an invisible transition, then cut to 10 years later. That way the change in actors is not as jarring for some of the audience.

In the book they try to explain it by laenor's mother, raenys, that has black hair (from her baratheon mother). But in the show that couldn't work, raenys having silver hair and above all laenor having black skin! So here raenyra's boys are 100% Strong!
