The talent, the chord changes, the fingering, the knowledge, the sounds, the methodical thinking, melodies, structures, progressions, theories, Emily was a prize musician and one day I will play with her, (when my time comes) It's unfortunate she went too fast for all of us to see what potential she would have had, she was so awesome!.

Back in them days even the women used to say that women can’t play lead guitar like a man. Nobody but Bonnie Raitt. And Emily said, “on the inside, I’m a 40 year old black man with a big thumb...’

No kidding but Sister Rosetta Tharpe pretty much invented a whole lot of lead guitar and the great session bassist Carol Kaye got her start as a jazz guitarist. Too many great players got overlooked. :/

I saw her first show with Guitar Explosion with Herb Ellis, Barney Kessel,Tal Farlow and Jimmy Raney. They were all kind. After she did her first album Firefly I saw her again at a show and she signed the album. Regretfully it disappeared some years ago.

Unbelievable player - in my opinion, one of the best to EVER play jazz guitar. This is not just a cover of D Natural Blues - its a medley of phrases from three blues heads. The first is D Natural Blues and the third is Blue Monk, but I'm not sure what the second is...

I have a somewhat curious story with Emily Remler, it happens that a while ago I began to fall in love with jazz and its gutiarists, through Spotify I came across Emily who immediately captivated me with her sound, the album was Firefly and I was amazed, at the same time I was surprised for a while because I didn't understand why I hadn't heard of her before, she quickly became one of my favorite performers and after a while I did a little research on her life and her story, I was a little devastated to know how it ended.
