i think Bill has a very unique personality. whoever he plays, its basically himself, nomatter which setting and oddly enough it always fits :) i hope to see way more of him in the upcoming Mando seasons :) his facial expressions in the "shoots officer" scene were amazing. i felt his dissapointment, his disgust, his hate.

Elion Gonzales was a young Cuba boy who was found on a raft with the body of his mother if I remember correctly so the American people wanted to let him stay in the US since his mother died to try and get him here, but the boys father was still in Cuba and wanted him back but the white people didn't want to send him back. Which eventually he was sent back.

Fried chicken was a cheap protein and you eat it with your hands and it's generally a bit messy to eat. During slavery and the years after it became a stereotype of black people because it emphasized that they were poor, dirty, and couldn't exist along refined white people. There's a pivotal scene in Birth of a Nation featuring fried chicken. It's pretty stupid because fried chicken is delicious and you can't fault people for eating what they can afford.

Bill was a writer for Chapelle show. I still have the DVD box sets. Such a great show! I don't think it would be aired today since there's too many sensitive people. Loving your channel, you are very well spoken and enjoyable to watch.

and Louie c k wrote pootie tang. chappelle show was the funniest, most irreverent, most important media artifact on the planet every season it aired. one can only speculate what could gave been if it kept going. seems like dude needed to clear his head and shake off some demons. I was lucky enough to snag a ticket to one of a few surprise gigs he did at the winter garden in t.o. in that limbo time before doing a special and he killed. he's still funny as hell but has gone from being the pulse to not being able to find a vein.

I believe Colin Powell was the first black 4 star general in the military. He had huge respect among black people despite his political party. The lead up to the war diminished most of his credibility, along with allegiance to Bush and the changing GOP.

between more skits with Chappelle and the song "story of O.J by Jay-Z you can get a little insight into that OJ was really loved by white people he was one of the first black athletes that white people loved until the trial then they threw him to the wolves. O.J even had the line "im not black im O.J". A lot of the people mentioned in the video while one race either hung out with or was loved by other races more hence why they were brought up :P

I love Chinese takeout wings too. The secret is they're marinated in Soy sauce and corn starch, then fried twice. They're pretty easy to make at home, and a lot less oily since they wont get cold inbetween the two frying sessions at home, at restaurants they par fry all the double cooking items ahead of time. This is also what makes fast food fries and other things good... Double deep fried.

OJ was the first black athlete that really had a lot of exposure in advertising through commercials and movies. He was really the first to be "socially accepted" by everyone. You would see him in national Hertz commercials. He was a lot like Bill Cosby only in the 70s He was well-spoken, came off as polite, and had a good image. Obviously later on the stuff with Nicole happened and the trial. This was just a funny way to say "yup he is black again"

Reaction suggestion: "Black Jeopardy with Tom Hanks - SNL" If I'm not mistaken, O.J. Simpson (at least for the purposes of this comedy sketch), was considered white because of his role in the Police Squad movies, and the Hertz rental car commercials he did prior to his trial for murder.

YESS! These are so good! Dave Chappelle was a mad genius. We'd be cheated out of such good social commentary if this show was still going. Looking back now, especially, it seems like his decision to shut it down and bail out of the country was extremely methodical and well timed. I was so bummed out when it ended.

There was a lot of negativity that was affecting him. White college bros running up to him and his family quoting black stereotypes over and over, he was wondering if he was really helping the world. Dave put a lot of context into his social commentary stuff, but often the audience at large misses a lot of that context.

When he yells Ungawa or Umgawa is also how it can be spelt it was to get the crowd to be quiet, In the old Tarzan movies Tarzan always yelled that at the tribes people or animals to get them to listen or pay attention to him.

Elian Gonzalez is the kid in that famous photo from last months of the Clinton days. If I remember, the photo shows him in someone's arms with federal agents raiding the home. There was a huge thing about his deportation back to Cuba. Happened in 2000.
