People love evil and vulgar, especially when it's known that Eminem is actually pretty chill and a good guy. I'm a metal head and I find a lot of overlap between hip hop and metal, and Im not talking about Limp Bizkit and rap-rock. It's got a similar aggressive energy, and both genres have beautiful, non-aggressive sides too. A lot of people need that intense outlet for what's going on in their lives and the world at large. Both genre's also have a lot of lyrics/themes that touch on social phenomena and deeper lessons in life.

I'm a fan of Em no doubt about it BUT i work in the music industry professionally so something that you need to understand is theres a difference between CERTIFIED album sales and noncertified album sales. The guy that posted the 2nd comment was actually right. Eminem has sold 227.5 million (RIAA CERTIFIED) albums AND singles in the United States. Plus he has sold albums worldwide as well. Back in the day when there were physical album copies Certifications did NOT reflect an albums sales but rather how many copies of that album have been SHIPPED by its label to its outlets but obviously, 90% of album sales are digital so there is a direct correlation with certified album sales in the digital world of today. Let me put it to you like this if Eminem sold 500+ albums AND singles world wide that would make him the #1 selling artist of ALL TIME regardless of genre. That would mean he's outsold The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Elvis but thats extremely unlikely the biggest reason is there music has been around 50 years longer which has given them more time to sell more albums not to mention the fact they didn't have internet to help promote their music back then.... #FoodForThought

When PAC passed, I did not think I would ever hear a rapper as good as him, let alone better. I didn’t get into em immediately upon his debut (real slim shady etc) but once I heard “sing for the moment”, I was done. I started studying his work up to that point, including his early stuff, and nobody is his equal from a lyrical and delivery standpoint. He’s surpassed everyone who came before him, in my mind.

What blows my mind that even artists who even were close to him at one point don't even realize that he wrote his verse years before Jay-Z did and Jay-Z still couldn't match it

This is very true. Many don't know that the Renegade Track was Originally for Royce featuring Eminem. Jay-z bought it mixed his verse cleaned up the beat and Em's versus was a little better. Overall, I think jay-z and Em were destined to do that track which in turned helped to Cement Em's skills in the HipHop.

Renegade is not Jay's lane, and it showed. Em washed him, like Jay would wash Em on a street track because that's not Em's lane. Tyler the Creator would have had a better verse than Jay on that track.

I'm saying Em is not to be judged alongside other rappers. He's like Michael Jackson, spans across genres & everybody listens to him, even those who don't like nor listen to rap. You can't compete with somebody like that. I hope I make sense.

Em is a monster at age whatever he is, hell even if he’s still tight w 50 cent he’s still 50 or older lol. We will never see another Eminem/slim shady. Anyone who doubts pls go listen to the Eminem show from start to finish. Biggest Album with the most bangers of all time. Then he got older, doing double, triple, sometimes quadruple entendres.
