Eminem wears his heart on his sleeve. Him and Kim was in such a toxic relationship. Once Em got famous he was gone a lot but Kim ended up on drugs and getting arrested. Em ended up with custody of Hailie, and Kim's neice. Then he got custody of Kim's other daughter from a another relationship. His daughters are Hailie, Alaina, and Whitney. But Hailie is his only biological daughter

As a father, this song breaks me every time I hear it. That 2nd part of the 2nd verse, "I act like shit don't phase me, INSIDE IT DRIVES ME CRAZY, MY INSECURITIES COULD EAT ME ALIVE." ... I FEEL that line deep in my soul. Em is one of the greatest songwriters of all time for real.

I heard it was "anoint her" or something like that. But abort her makes way more sense for how em wrote back then. Must be like how on no apologies back in the day everyone thought the censored line was "like beyonces pot belly" but "like mariahs pot belly" makes more sense.

Yeah, "didnt want her" would have a very negative connotation. I guess you could take it as "her mom didn't want her so now I get to be with her", but still it's pretty messed up to be glad someone else didn't want her especially a mother. Way more loving to say "I'm so glad her mom didn't abort", which is basically"I'm so glad she was born"

This song was released when I was 16 and the album was one of my favorites at that time. This song hits close to home for me now because I'm a single father with full custody of my son, who is almost 9 years old. His mother hasn't been in his life since the day before his 3rd birthday. Just having him makes me want to be the best version of myself.

Pleasant surprise after a long work day :) Edit: I like his singing too! He's not the best singer as he states in this song but you can hear his passion and that he actually tries. The effort is there and I love that. He doesn't half-ass anything, if he wants to do it/try it he puts his all into it and I respect that. Therefore I love when he decides to sing!

@Lilly Jane Reacts yeah if you like Em singing you should definitely check out Stronger Than I Was off The Marshall Mathers LP 2 and also check out Beautiful Pain featuring Sia. He sings the bridge in that song. He's singing ability has gotten better and better progressively over the years. For example just look at the original song Killer awesome Music to Be Murdered By side B. I heard so many people a lot of them Eminem fans they couldn't believe he was the one singing the hook on that song. 🔥 As always as far as your reactions... 😁

If you ever watch 8 Mile he sings a little song to his supposably sister in the movie right then and there I was like Wow Eminem can sing I mean he's no Chris Brown but he definitely has a great voice and when it comes to his daughter oh yeah I can relate to this only through not having a father around and loving the fact that he is such a great father God has blessed him little does he know it's so many ways he's talented he has a great daughter and now he's rich LOL but honestly Eminem's is the best

So, this was a long as* time ago, but there was a lot going on with him back then, but from what I can remember when em and her split up the 1st time, she was taking him to court for full custody, after that kim song I believe, saying she was scared or whatever. And this was the time the gov. Trying to censor him and him getting sued, plus he had that assault charge from fkn up the bouncer. Anyway, so kim wound up trying to k*** herself, got arrested and went into rehab. So, cps let him get I believe full custody, but idk if this is the order it was in, but I do know all this was going on around the same time..

Actually, Alaina is Kim's twin sister Dawn's daughter. Dawn was unfit to raise Alaina due to drugs. Kim and Marshall were basically already taking care of Alaina all the time, and then they made it official in adopting her in early 00's Alaina biological mom Dawn/Kim' sister died in 2016 due to OD years after they adopted her. She is 30 years old now and recently got married to her longtime boyfriend Bryan in July 2023. With Hailie as her Maid of Honor and Marshall walked her down the aisle ❤. She's a travel blogger, mental health/fitness advocate, and runs a book club somewhere online, kind of like Zoom. She was also the 1st person in their family to go to college and graduate from college with a communications and advertising degree from Oakland. Last I heard, she's thinking about going back to school to get another degree. Alaina had it really rough with Dawn as her mom when she was younger before she got adopted. Yes, Kim struggled with her addictions/depression, but it was MUCH WORST with her sister that she just couldn't take care of Alaina at all, similar to Marshall and Nates' mom. So Alaina looked up to her dad/uncle Marshall and learned from him that you can change things for the better in your own life and can make a good life for yourself. In which she did! She didn't follow the same path as her biological mom path. Marshall broke the cycle of toxic upbringing, and the kids followed that same example and made good life's for themselves. - Marshall also became a legal guardian to his younger half-brother Nathan on his 16th birthday when Marshall finally made it with his career and was able to get him out of the foster system thanks to their mother. He lived with them till sometime after he graduated from HS. So Marshall raised all 4 kids all together. He REALLY had to step up for his girls and brother, especially when Kim was going through her on and off struggles with depression. Nathan is 37 years old now and has 3 kids with his very longtime girlfriend Ashley who now have married since in 2018 and their 3 kids got to be in the wedding ❤ when he was a teenager he really got into DJ and still is passionate about it he does venues, clubs, parties, events, grand openings etc. He is an entrepreneur. He made a few rap singles but didn't stick with the raping though he just stuck with the DJ. Also, when younger, he got to work on Eminems crew like on local tours/back stage stuff and he got to be in a few of the music videos as well. Nathan really looks up to his older brother as an idol and that he learned how to be a good father because of Marshall.
