EM comes from battle rap and he still treats rap as a competitive sport (battle). The only problem is he has nobody to compete with except himself, so he just goes bananas on every damn track and casual listeners can't take it, because he's not making radio songs, he's just rapping his ass off.

100 percent Em is the greatest lyricist of all time. It’s not a shot at anyone else, just the vocabulary, the fluxes in his voice to emphasize or make shit rhyme, the flipping of the sentences just to make shit sound crazy, not just rhyming the last word rhyming words within the bar and the scheming crazy! I can go on about so much more but y’all get what I’m saying….
