Join me to compare a couple of speakers from Eminence!
The Signal chain LTD EC1000 w/Fishman Fluence Devin Townsend pickups, tuned to drop C. Soundflower Custom 412 and each speaker was recorded individually with DI guitar tracks for the fairest comparison. The guitar used in the mixes is a Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid Avenger FR S with the Fishman Fluence Ryan Fluff Bruce bridge pickup. Drop C tuning.

Both great speakers, very similar qualities, the Texas Heat sounds brighter, and they sound great together with a good balance, I have a Texas Heat in a DSL40 combo and it's absolutely sick for blues, rock and metal

@@tyrannosaurusriffsI absolutely love it! it's the last model, the CR, no pedals needed, 4 channels, and if you like heavy monster riffing which I believe you do, I know I do, with great low end and searing screaming leads, this beast has got your back! It can do it all, try one out sometime

I have a Swamp Thang, always wondered what to pair it with? To my ears, it covers the lows and highs pretty well, maybe lacking in the mids. Excellent video, keep them coming :)

Have them both in an X pattern in a Marshall cab. Awesome combo. Probably my second favorite pairing ive tried. Nicely done sir!

I prefer the Texas Heat, it sounds like it works better in a mix. It has the midrange to stand out and not drown in the bass like the Swamp Thang. The Swamp Thang is a bit boomy/bass-heavy in my opinion. In your rapidfire mix it sounded like it muddied your mix a bit.

Totally can hear what you’re saying. I love the Swamp Thang for its unusual character but the Texas Heat is very pleasing to my ears. It’s crisp, clean, clear, punchy etc! I love Eminence speakers.

The cool thing about the Texas Heat is that it can handle a USA Peavey 6534+ 120 was head turned up all the way ! The head unit is pushing 180 watts at full volume and the Texas heat held up no problem for a good hour of testing @ full volume !

maybe it's the audio compression, but what you're hearing as hollow in the ST in person I'm hearing as full spectrum, 3D. But you also said 'stereo', which I hear too. The TH in contrast sounds more focused (or in your face, we agree again), and dare I say spikey (another word for bright maybe sorta? are we 3 for 3?). To me the TH sounded kinda like a ST doing a V30 impression lol. Anyway, I preferred the ST over my headphones.

Nice comparison! I have been wanting to tryout an Eminence CV-75 and Swamp Thang combo in a 4x12. I have some CV paired with some Celestion g12k-85 in a 4x12 already but the sensitivity ratings definitely do not match (CV definitely louder) I have a feeling the cutting mids and punchy low end of the CV75 should pair nicely with some Swamp Thangs (at least I hope 😅)

Try the Eminence Red White and Blues. It's like a Swamp Thang and Texas Heat combined. Love it for bright amps.

@@tyrannosaurusriffs hell yeah man! RWB and Tonker are my favorites from them. RWB gets a bad rap for heavy stuff because it's got blues in the name and it doesn't sound good until you push it pretty loud. Like probably-shouldn't-be-this-loud-in-the-house loud. Tonker is a Swamp Thang with tighter bass and more mids

Can’t go wrong with a good blend. Ive noticed both of these speakers come up often when discussing blending. I wouldn’t mind grabbing up a pair of both of these speakers just to mix and match with what I got here.

These were great additions for sure. Can't wait to add more speakers. I was really nervous about both but I really do like them both. Very nice characteristics.

@@tyrannosaurusriffs have you tried the hesu demon speaker yet? May be a special one to add to your collection. It does well on its own and takes a blend very well.

@@smeemusic I have not. That's the one I want the most right now. The Hesu and then the Eminence CV-75. Hesu first though.

@@tyrannosaurusriffs idk why I didn’t mention it in my last comment but the celestion creamback is deceptively great for metal also. I prefer it to the v30 in almost all cases. There’s a few amps out there that really favor the v30 but for the most part the creamback is where it’s at.

@@smeemusic that's another one I want pretty bad. I need to dump like $2k on speakers that I want. Trying to sell a bunch of gear right now to fund other gear to play with. Slow going these days on sales.

Just got a Texas Heat and can't wait to try it out in one of my cabs. Have you tried the Emi Tonker, so far it is my favourite Eminence speaker. Really balanced, but with all the mud frequencys dialed out. I also liked the CV75 (like a tamer WGS Veteran30) and the Governor is also kind of cool. Hated the Legend GB (worst speaker I have ever tried, sounded like a bunch of blankets were over my cab)

I love the Texas heat. It's rad! I haven't tried the Tonker yet but it is on my list. The CV75 is actually at the top of my list right now! Governor not to far behind. For Eminence I've only tried these two and the DV-77. I love all 3, but so far the 77 has my been my favorite one!

@@tyrannosaurusriffs Cool! I also recommend triying some Jensen Jet Series speakers, the Raptor is maybe the best speaker I have ever played, the Elelctric Lightning is als a nice option.

@@tyrannosaurusriffs I checked out the Texas Heat this weekend. And oh boy it's not for me. Had to get it our of my cab and replace it with a Jensen Tornado 100 that I also got a couple of days ago. The Jensen sounds so much fuller with more Note4 definition, it is unreal.

Ever since you first demo'd the 77 I dove into speaker specs a little. Eminence are more efficient than Celestion, so they're going to sound louder and clearer. I believe the 77 and Tex Heat kind of compete for the same sonic space, with the 77 being more aggressively voiced. Since the ST/TH is such a classic combo, I have to wonder how the 77 would pair with Man O' War (my understanding is Man is a more aggressive version of the Gov, which is modeled after the Celestion V). Sorry my comment is so wordy...

I appreciate these responses. I’ve had the Man O War on my list forever. That and the CV from Eminence. I’m fan boying Eminence quite a bit lately. Super consistent, tons of character and clarity. The 77 and Texas Heat will be next!
