The 2021 US Open main draw runs from August 30 - September 12 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 141st time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Dominic Thiem is the men’s singles defending champion but has withdrawn following an injury. Naomi Osaka is the women’s singles defending champion and will be aiming to claim the title for the third time in four years. Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic looks to complete the calendar Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon already this year. Should the Serbian lift the title here for the fifth time, he will also overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to become the first-ever man to win 21 Grand Slam singles titles. With full capacity crowds back again, it’s time for the greatest return!

Emma, can you tell us what part Canada played in your life? I was born there. I left when I was two. I can't remember it at all. My parents were there for work reasons. I have no relations or links with Canada whatsoever. But, hey, thanks for the question. Emma what about the fact that both the finalists have a Chinese parent, is this a coincidence or did you derive some form of inspiration from this? Obviously it's a coincidence. Thanks for the question.

She honestly is a breath of fresh air for the woman’s tennis world. No arrogance, so friendly and transparent in her interviews, talking with such fluency, no shyness, full of confidence but not a hint of over confidence, and that also applies to her tennis which is also very adaptable to her opponents. Definitely a rising star who will win many GSs. And to top it off, she is so pretty. She is a joy to watch on and off court. Very well done do her.

Enjoying Raducanu's and Fernandez's runs immensely, and the final is definitely on my calendar. Odds are favoring Raducanu, and I agree. Have a sneaky suspicion that Raducanu's apparent split-focus between tennis and education did two things: 1) concealed the full degree of her tennis skills and 2) creates a balance which will give her an edge. All that said, I am just happy to see two amazing and motivated women go to battle. Should be a joy to watch.

The first question about under no pressure she’s already answered by her reaction at Wimbledon when she retired. As she admitted afterwards, everything all came crashing down on her, because of pressure being put on her. She’s had that difficult experience to learn from and it’s showing quite dramatically in how she’s performed so far. The demeanour on court between Emma and Leylah is quite marked, Leylah is more emotional and about using the crown. Emma has come across pretty ice cool and focused.

It’s frustrating that people say she had an easier draw, Emma came through qualifying to reach the final without dropping a set, Emma deserves it just as much as Leylah.. it’s not Emma’s fault that all the seeded players in her half of the draw lost early and she had to beat their successor instead 😂 she would’ve played Barty, Swiatec, Andreescu and Pliskova if they matched their seedings - all 4 of those have either won a major or reached a major final in the last 24 months which is equally as difficult. If we analyse Leylah’s win - Svitolina doesn’t have pedigree in majors let’s be honest, Kerber is definitely past her best and Naomi & Sabalenka are both great ball strikers but have struggled mentally. 🤔 I’m just making a point that we don’t need to belittle Emma’s achievements compared to Leylah’s, they’ve both doing incredibly well and it’s exciting for women’s tennis! ✌🏻

To come through the 'Qualis', and not drop a set at a Major, is quite an accomplishment. She's got the complete game with youth on her side. Whoever is designing her game plan deserves a lot of praise: She gave the ball quite a bit of 'air', and that took away Sakkari's ability to 'load up' on her shots. Hitting the ball deep also helped. I didn't think she could beat Sakkari like this. She's got a slightly bigger serve, and that may give her the edge over Leyla. I like her chances in 3 sets🏆🏆
