The commentator is clearly favoring Raducanu, picking out everything wrong or everything COCO needs to do. All in vain. She lost and now COCO has a slam under her belt too.

and in the meantime emma is not an item anymore. she is forgotten and has a body of glass and zero motivation as she loves her diva liffe more. coco is for 2 years in the top 5. emma peaked only for 3 weeks and since that day its a big drama with her. coco is not even 20 and has won 7 titles , we cannot say the same of emma.

Yeah you can definitely hear the bias in the commentary. There's certain words the commentators use to describe the players games, not cool. When I say bias I mean you can tell who they are rooting for.

Good question. Although it's pretty clear some people can be egregiously wrong and other folks are perfectly within their rights to correct or comment on said wrong commentary. Tennis commentator, Carillo, once gleefully intoned, "This kid is just better," when describing Maria Sharapova compared to the great Serena Williams!! ?! Serena Williams is obviously the greatest who ever lived. Sharapova is a good player, but certainly at a lower level than superior Serena!

I am a person who can admit when i am WRONG. That being said; after hearing from COCO 's OWN mouth that her parents are her SUPPORT, i stand corrected. I had NO right to assume. Not only that , who must've paid for her from cradle 'til now... again i was WRONG. I am SO HAPPY to see COCO, FINALLY get a REAL coach. Ever since she's been swatting the so-CALLED big players like flies out of the way, and winning titles. I LOVE her humility and her CHUTZPAH. I knew she had it in her! She can take THIS US Slam. The COCO i see NOW has grown up right before my eyes, and MAKING HISTORY ! 💞🎾👍💪💖Vamos COCO!

Actually, Coco's parents were/are fine coaches. Coco won her first tour championship when she was just a mere 15 years-old! What kept her from winning majors earlier was probably the fact that she had to recover from COVID! That kept her out of the Olympics, too! I know that Mr. Peres and Mr. Gilbert are good coaches as well. Brad Gilbert even turned Zendaya (the great actress, dancer, singer, writer, trapeze artist, painter, and producer, etc.) into a good tennis player for her upcoming tennis film, CHALLENGERS! But again, Coco would have obviously won more (including a major or two or three or more) if she had not contracted COVID - even with "just" her wonderful parents as coaches. After all, Serena and Venus were coaching themselves and winning majors. After a certain point, a coach is mostly a sounding board.

Her parents sacrificed a lot for her financially to get her where she needed to be. They also stepped aside so skilled coaches could elevate her game. Her parents have done a great job in raising her. 🥰

I dreamed that Coco Gauf would be the successor of Serena Willans, but to reach this Legend there could only be one, as Navratilova was the greatest for me in World Tennis, but as she is still young, she still has time to be one of the best in the world, always cheering for her. Brazil.

Your standards are not that high, because Navratilova was just a little bit better than Sharapova. And Serena was better than both of them! But we know that we always have to be 3 times better to be considered equal or better. Serena’s record is definitely superior, but she would have to have at least 30 grand slams and 20 gold medals, then yall might consider her equal! I just watched it again (not much choice while she's recovering from surgery) and this was a fascinating battle. Emma was obviously in some discomfort for most of the match (a stitch or a pulled muscle) but put on a gutsy performance against her opponent who, despite being four years her junior, has played in far more tournaments and grand slams and was the 7th seed for this AO. Brilliant by both girls.

Both girls are great in their craft, this was wonderful to watch. Watched Emma's grand slam and it's amazing to see how much improvement in her playing technique there is despite it being visible that there was some physical pain whilst playing this game. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

1:18:57: Nadal always repeats the direction of the shot when the opponent is rushing back to the center of the court. This tactic should have given Raducanu this point.

This Emma is hyped by the British Media. She won the US open by fluke. When most of the Top players couldn't come due to Covid. If not a player ranked 500 can beat her. Emma might have gotten some luck because top players lost early. But saying most of the TOP players couldn't make it to USO due to Covid is a BIG BIG lie. Go to USO 2021 Wiki or google you can see almost all top players were there, including then No.1 Barty, defending champ Osaka, Swiatek, Sabalenka, Rybakina, Coco, etc. When top players lost early, everyone remaining had a chance, but none of them could pass Emma. So there was something more than luck. In Sports, whatever happened afterwards doesn't cancel what happened already. She won USO fair and square.

Emma's serve was way off here. She usually serves much better than this. The ankle injury was still hampering her and she couldn't land on it to do a proper serve. Next time they meet it'll be a much better match. I like both of these players and look forward to many more matches between them.

Instead worry about the 6yrs, 4yrs and 3yrs that have passed since OSTAPENKO, ANDREESCU, KENIN and STEPHENS replicated their initial success. BTW did any of the aforementioned win their GS in only their 2nd ever slam appearance as a 'qualifier' without dropping a set ?? I think not, but you may know otherwise !!

At about 1:10, Radu does this thing that only the female players do where they go down almost to their knees to hit a backhand (and then she hits the net). Lowering your center of gravity that much and then trying to hit the ball up and over a net does not make any sense from the standpoint of physics. Are women taught this by coaches? Why, why, why?????

I really like COCO ,but I think that she'd play better without her parents around. I get so pissed off watching her mom's facial expressions and body language & her father 's too. The idea that this young lady is supporting her entire family bothers me . Something tells me COCO would've won a GS by now if she didn't have to keep watching her parents over-reacting when she doesn't make a shot. With SERENA GOAT, she knew VENUS & Oracene & Sisters & Richard, were totally behind her whether she made the shot or not. In fact Oracene was a real joker from the box & would help in diffusing the tension . Elena Dementieva 's Mom used to do the same thing to her daughter with a constant nervous glare & Elena's game would be thrown off; she'd literally just stop & yell at her Mom ti stop it. Some parents can prove to be quite a hindrance to their child's game.And when they chose just to have team in box, the players are free.

It's interesting that as the commentators pointed out at around the 20 minutes mark, even though Gauff is 15 months younger than Raducanu, she's actually the much more experienced player who's played 50 more WTA matches and has played in twice as many tournaments as Raducanu. She's also played the AO 4 times compared to only the second time for Raducanu. Her experience showed in how she handled the pressure points better than Raducanu. But Raducanu is a better player overall IMO, her technique is much better. I think she'll gain that experience and become a more successful player between the two, as long as she could cut down on the injuries which I know is a big if for her at the moment. She seems quite fragile compared to Gauff.

@@coreymurphy188Emma was controlling a lot of rallies so she was in that sense. Emma didn’t have a serve in this week cause of her foot issue so that was putting her in a lot of trouble on her service. Emma could definitely have won that being fully fit. Should be even better matches between them in future.

@@jgooner894 she still lost. Bottom line. If she was the better player she would have won. Anything beyond that is just excuses. You can tell yourself whatever you want but she has yet to beat a top ten player and Coco showed her winning matches isn't just about controlling the rallies. Control the outcome.

@@coreymurphy188 I think for Emma though that’s more promising at this stage cause that’s what will get her far. It’s worse if her attacking play wasn’t good and her serve and defence is doing pretty well. Coco needs to develop her attacking game if she wants to win the big stuff.

This was a pathetic match to watch! Winner was whoever made the least amount of errors at crucial moments. Coco has got to get better if she ever wants a title! Should've beaten Emma 6-1 6-0 with the noncommittal stuff she was doing. This was like watching two drunk people fight at a bar!

Agreed. Lol😂 I was waiting for 6-0, 6-1 Gauff. Unfortunately, when you’re playing against a bad player, that leads you make stupid enforced errors. This match was so annoying. Hope Coco will work more on her long shots😒

Emma was the better player but obviously with a handicap. This is a bit sad she really shouldn't have played. Coco is okay but no tennis player would have had to under the pain Emma had. Now that Emma is better hopefully we'll see her knock people off the court with abandon once again because that was so funny how nobody could beat her and even win a set 🙂

Actually Emma is extremely good she has beat everyone out there except for Coco Gauff. She's only 19 years old and is far from a one hit wonder.
