Kindly, Depp has been idolizing Nathan for years. His persona is definitely influenced by Nathan, not the reverse. “In real life I’m very relaxed”. This is doubly funny if you’ve seen the real Nathan (the actual real Nathan). Was lucky enough to attend a taping for The Curse and Nathan was a pretty cool normal dude, but you can tell he cares intensely about his work and is a bit of a perfectionist who gets stressed out easily. The actors for the scene just couldn’t get it quite right and there was some prop continuity issues, and I remember him hands in his head leaning against the wall stressed out for a moment while he was figuring out what to do. (Him and Benny of course were extremely professional and polite with all the actors and crew members and eventually got what they needed)

5:25 here onwards, I'm debating whether this was fully set-up with Emma saying she was texting him all summer and saying how amazing his acting was during the time...OR Emma was just casually piggybacking on Nathan's gripe about the review of his acting, and them Nathan threw it at her when she said texted him. He just said "show em. Show em the texts." She looked genuinely caught off guard, but caught back on the bit immediately.

So excited for everyone to see the *real* Nathan! He's actually very fun, relaxed and easygoing, a really cool dude, who radiates confidence! I've always said that! And his acting! his range is just incredible, the intense emotion and the passion he conveys in every role is far from stif! in fact it is the opposite of stif! The best actor of our time!

not sure if everyone is understanding that this is a skit emma was in on in which she's embodying a bit of her character on 'the curse.' if you haven't seen it, whitney is a rather uptight woman of the "karen" variety who is obsessed with maintaining a good public image to a disconcerting degree. also, her marriage to nathan's character, asher, is ... a bit detached, hostile, and otherwise uncomfortable, which is without question what the two of them were playing at here. the curse is a masterfully executed social critique on performative activism, the more ugly truth that tends to shatter the carefully crafted facade of reality tv, and myriad other things. but emma's toe 😭 hopefully she's ok ❤️

As a fellow Canadian I can attest to how cool this guy really is in real life. After seeing his band 'Constellation Puppy' live back in the day at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, it was a great departure indeed to see his portrayal of a yuppie suit dweller in his more recent acting work. This guy stole Mike's girlfriend back in the day after a gig they played at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, Mike of Mike and Mike's X-Canada Adventures fame that is, from back in the day if you were hip to what was going down so to speak on the tube. There is a rich history in the arts up here in Canada that is completely passed over and neglected in the USA press.
