The entire lethal weapon film series are just perfect fun action, that have moments of thoughtfulness and a lot of heart. Miss the 90’s.

The closing song "Cheer Down" by George Harrison was co-written with Tom Petty, and produced by Jeff Lynne (of Electric Light Orchestra). Harrison offered the song to Eric Clapton to include on his Journeyman album, but Clapton chose to use it for the film instead. (The song "Run So Far" was included on Journeyman.) Harrison, Petty, and Lynne along with Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan had just recorded an album together as The Traveling Wilburys.

Also Emma some context. This movie was made when Apartheid was still a thing in South Africa. This was around the time when there was a lot of international pressure on South Africa to end Apartheid.

One of my favorite things in this movie is the end of the gold pen story. When roger mentions the pen in the wash you can tell trish understood that riggs shared a story with her that roger didnt even know.

"Diplomatic immunity." "IT'S JUST BEEN REVOKED!" This is, in my opinion, the best of the franchise. When people think or parody the Lethal Weapon franchise, they're really thinking or parodying this movie above all others. Fun Fact: The body count is thirty-three, the highest of the Lethal Weapon franchise. What Script Fact: Jack McGee ad-libbed his line about the condom commercial during rehearsals. The cast and crew liked it so much, it was kept in the film. Historical Fact: Despite the film's "Free South Africa" stance, it was passed uncut by the South African censors and became a major financial success in that country. This wasn't much of a surprise, since apartheid was already on the outs anyway and ended on June 17, 1991. That's Hot Fact: Patsy Kensit claimed the sex scene was great but also kind of disappointing. While she had to strip for the scene, Mel Gibson was allowed to keep some things to himself. She confessed: "When we did a love scene, I was buck-naked, but he had his modesty pouch thing. So I didn't see it, and I didn't look. But he was a great kisser."

Joe Pesci is such a funny addition to the cast. He has great chemistry with Glover and Gibson. The scene at the embassy always makes me laugh.

In the beginning where they couldn't recognize the South African accent, I did because in high school we had a foreign exchange student from Zimbabwe, who I fell in love/lust with. Having the storyline about the death of Riggs' wife was a great way to help understand more of his state of mind from the first LW. Then when he lost another love, you could really empathize with him. Great reaction, Emma.

To understand this film it's necessary to read some texts about Apartheid and Nelson Mandela. The beautiful secretary is Patsy Kensit, singer of the group Eighth Wonder; and seeing her nude scenes, it's clear that she was the eighth wonder.
