How and when to use Emmener Amener Emporter Apporter in French.
Use the core verbs Mener (to lead) and Porter (to carry) to differentiate what you lead, or what you carry. Then to indicate the destination, the prefixes A- is used when you are going to leave what you are bringing there, EM-, for what you are going to bring back with you.

This is so useful. Breaking down the verbs like this, with their sort of, connectivity and relationships, really helps to understand the different and correct ways of using the verbs. For example, I always wondered when to use ‘amener’ and ‘apporter’ when they appear to be similar actions, but your explanations give a clearer understanding. I look forward to more of the same thing. I like the colours, good choice and the new shapes of the “background box’. It sort of feels less formal, I like it. Great presentation and lesson as always👌

Finding this channel and your books was like finding a pond of cool water after wandering around the desert about to die of thirst. Except I'm totally fine and not about to dehydrate literally or anything. Sipping on some tea right now actually so nobody panic. Come to think of it the analogy wasn't a perfect one, but still, kudos on the channel and thanks for this video. The colors look good.

I was told just today that if I want to say "I'm confused" to say 'Je m'ennuie' .. and that yes, it also means to be bored. Dependant on context apparently!! I will take another look - but I hadn't seen this in your existing video list. Sorry if that was an oversight.

Salut Dylane, watched this video and a few of your other video lessons on Thanksgiving day in the US, wanted to wish you Happy Thanksgiving but then I realized in Canada it is celebrated in Oct😅I like your explanation .."someone must carry them there...or they are not coming..one way or two ways." They are funny and as a result I remember them well!!. Love the new blue and turquoise color layout, pleasing and soothing to the eyes. French is such an interesting, descriptive and beautiful language!! Merci beaucoup ❤Keep Up the good work!! (existe-il une expression similaire en français?) @@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane If you are taking something to some location and then going to bring it back a little while later, "Remporter" would have been an easier verb to remember if this verb exists instead of "Emporter" which sounds like "to import" in english ... Well ... maybe we can associate "Emporter" with exporting the object to the said location and then importing it back home a little while later ... je ne sais pas ... est-ce que vous pourriez me l'expliquer s'il vous plaît professeur?

Salut prof, merci à vous, mais j’ai une question. I am in the study and I ask my granddaughter to bring one more chair. Should I say apport la chaise or emporte la chaise? ( she will bring the chair but then she needs to take it back to the living room) I think in this case I need to say emport. Please explain.
