Matty really grew on me I think he's a great character and an amazing actor.

I feel for matty, he just wants to live as himself and he obviously wants moira to accept him and she doesn’t so i can see why it probably wasn’t mentioned because a lot of trans people dont say anything until teenage years or older (depending on the person) not everyone who is transgender knows at 4. I hope moira comes around

I suppose in Moira's mind she has to get her head around the fact that 'Matty' has not, to all intents and purposes, premeditatively killed her little girl, 'Hannah'. In her mind they're two people, one of whom is lost forever at the hands of the other. Once, or if, those two characters unite so it doesn't feel like the one she knew before is dead, she'll be able to accept it a lot more.

Matty try to explain how he felt being born in the wrong transition from female to male while sprung this on Moira all of a sudden after not seeing each other for nearly two year's

I understand why moria is reacting the way she did she feels like she not only lost 1 daughter but 2 daughters by hannah transitioning into Matty

Understandable Moira is awkward suddenly her daughter Hannah come's home by breaking in the Barton family home now as a man also now finding out her son who was her feeling that he was born in the wrong keep it a secret for year's Moira feel's betrayed that Matty keep his feeling's about him transitioning from female to male while Moira while was dealing Holly's relapse and overdosed then Holly's death

They should have made Matty a gay trans man as he used to fancy men when he was Hannah. I remember Hannah stalking David for a while because she was so obsessed with him! It’s like the writers want us to forget the character of Hannah as she wasn’t remotely boyish whats so ever.

Can someone tell me what Moira says to Cain after Cain says "I thought you were called Matty"?

Transgenderism is better understood now, its a matter if gender not sex, the two are often conflated or used interchangeably but sex is biology and gender is a social construct like race is.

Since when did Hannah feel she was in the wrong body? And when she realises, she decides to get a sex change and now is called Matty

I'm sorry but this storyline is just stupid. It makes no sense in the context of how the character of Hannah was before, there was never any suggestion that she was struggling with gender identity. From what I understand, this type of thing isn't something you just suddenly realize, it's something that is present from childhood. So it just feels like the writers wanted to put in a transgender story and just forced it into the show.

This is nothing more than fashionable, tick box opportunism which allows Emmerdale to explore (wait for it) - ‘transphobia’. ‘Hattie’ (‘Hannah’ and ‘Mattie’ morph) hasn’t been in the programme two minutes and he/she/whatever, has already used the ‘T’ word to accuse Moira. This is tedious claptrap, a ridiculously far fetched storyline which will bore the vast majority of Emmerdale fans. I’d had enough of Hattie within seconds of his/her appearance. So, please - PLEASE - save us from a long, drawn out storyline involving this ridiculous character, in which the residents of this small, rural village (of all places) will undoubtedly regard Hattie’s ‘transgenderness’ as the most natural thing in the world. It’s one thing to change Hannah’s sex, but to totally erase every trace of her original character is farcical, even by soap standards. No wonder Moira is ‘struggling’, her daughter disappears as a sweet, shy, feminine heterosexual and returns looking like Bob the fucking builder with an attitude to match. For goodness’ sake, send this pantomime joke of a character back to wherever it came from, never to return, and we loyal viewers just might forgive the Emmerdale writers for one of the most ludicrous storyline ideas they’ve ever come up with.

How is that Hannah she was a girl and now she looks like that.Look at Hannah when she was with Adam and holly when she was younger and now she looks like a completely male why does Hannah have to do that look like why is she not a girl because it does not look or sound right please change back to the OLD Hannah !!!!!!!!!!!

I just want to watch a soap, I don't want to be brainwashed into thinking a man could ever be a woman or a woman could ever be a man. This has really put me off.
