I don’t think there is enough said about how amazing Emmet’s playing is especially on this track. He plays one of the finest piano solo’s ever on this tune. Unreal creativity, musical elegance and touch. Russell is also amazing. Insane and the rapport between the rhythm section is crazy. But on this track Emmet really outshines. Hats off 👏

Patrick is my favorite jazz musician of all time man. Everything he does is so melodic and unique and he just has this way of occasionaly crossing the line in phrases from jazz music ust pure music. I don't know how to describe it, but sometimes he creates phrases that are somewhat simple musically, but fit so perfectly into the context of his solo and the players around him. Idk how to describe it, but it makes sense to me at least. His solos really transcend like in this performance and gain a deeper level of soulfully rich content that really reminds me how much I love jazz. I really take inspiration from people like him, and hope that one day I'm the distant future, I can possibly be a great jazz musician and can do something that is enriching and that I love to do. Thanks for this performance!

Honestly my mind is thoroughly blown, I don't know what's wrong with me, but I have not heard such groovin, musical, high octane but captivating soloing in a good while. Every note in phrase from Emmet just progressed and continued the momentum and narrative forward, so integral and connected yet so vivid, distinct and alive, and Patrick just burning through those out keys and in keys with so much force. Something about this was different than what I'm used to. Every phrase from these guys seems so deeply intentional, not a moment of predictable playing yet still so narratologically potent (by that I mean it all feels so apparently purposeful, it resonates, just feels _right,_ ) just real real mastery over their sound. When musicians attain that kind of control over their tools, there's some other dimension that comes out of the music, just grabs you and enthralls you in a way you just can only get from someone who truly has control over that. It's a phenomenon I don't usually have the blessings to come across often, It's something I usually only find in the real super greats of Jazz, Miles' Four and More, John Coltrane in his modal prime, Bill Evans (...basically everything he did really). Not to be controversial, but to me this is something I struggle to find in most of hard bop and jazz in general, most musicians just don't have that same level of depth and masterfulness and it comes across, but when someone does, it's really powerful. So thanks for being so good, in short.

I'm telling you, every solo from Emmet has this aura you're describing that I've rarely been able to find elsewhere, and I often see it in Patrick Bartley's playing as well. To hear them play together is really a treat.
