It is rare that a young vocalist appears on the scene who has the voice, range, musical sense, and subtlety to do justice to this repertory. Samara Joy has it all, and then some. We hope see to more of her.

It is rare that a young singer sings so far beyond her years. Her voice is exquisite, and her sense of timing and phrasing is impeccable. She combines the beet of Ella, Sarah and Carmen into her own unmistakable style. She is up for a Grammy, and I for one can’t think of a more deserving recipient.

So many young singers are working in the jazz vocal field,with varying degrees of success. Samara Joy is by far the one people will be listening to years from now.I feel Ella, Sarah,Nancy Wilson,Betty Carter, Ms. McRae all smiling and wishing Samara the best. Thanks Emmet and co. for the tasteful and beautiful accompaniment.

The closest I have heard to jazz singing perfection since Sassy passed. Wonderful voice and a great band to boot. Excellent.

Samara has an immediately recognizable quality that comes along once in a generation. In the same way that Carmen MacRae or Sarah Vaughn were instantly clear from the first note, so is she. Impeccable time, tone, technique, expressive vibrato, and deep feeling.

Samara's voice-- tone, phrasing choices, and range, gives me goosebumps. It's magical. She sings with the sophistication of a seasoned performer.

I just became aware of Samara today NPR. I could not believe what I was hearing. She has been infused with the spirit of the great ones.....Sara, Ella, Nancy, Gloria Lynn.

The greatest, most beautiful and jazzy voice we can hear nowadays. I never liked this song which always bored me and made me sleep until I heard Samara's version. It's now one of my favorites and I came back to listen to it tens of times. I need to learn it in the same key right now. Thanks a lot for this great emotion !
