I'm testing out a #Japanese #gadget that prepares an #egg for #TKG or Tamago Kake Gohan, a simple dish of white rice and raw egg. The machine will crack the egg, separate the yolk from the white, and then whip the egg whites into a frothy cloud of meringue. YES!! I'm dying to test this one out. 😁 Let's do it!
New videos every Thursday and Saturday 8 pm EST.

Fun fact. There is no salmonella inside an egg fresh or otherwise. The risk is the outside of the egg. To ensure you don't get salmonella poisoning when using raw eggs, you want to: - use eggs that have no cracks (if they were cracked previously, and spent time that way, the bacteria can get inside) - crack the egg on a flat surface (cracking the egg with a knife or on the edge of a bowl vastly increases the likelihood that you get egg shell in your egg) - split the cracked egg confidently and quickly (again reducing the chance that shell gets in your egg) - don't use the egg shell to separate eggs! (I see so many people do this even professional cooks. IT'S CRAZY! Use your hands it's so easy)
@lotus_dream
@lotus_dream 5 жыл бұрын
Also I want to add, give your egg a quick rinse before you use it. And if you live in US, refrigerate your eggs.
@shadypalmtree2989
@shadypalmtree2989 5 жыл бұрын
Point for separating the eggs with the shell: 1) it's easy 2) the eggs are always cooked after separation, so there is little risk of the bacteria surviving in the cooked to death eggs.

Or just live in a 1st world country where chickens are vaccinated against salmonella. It's a joke how bad American food standards are.
@Mijochda
@Mijochda 5 жыл бұрын
@@muwuny probably about as ridiculous as your lack of knowledge. Chickens are not vaccinated against salmonella as not such vaccine exists. What does happen is chickens are pumped full of antibiotics. This is very successful at protecting the chickens themselves from illness, and mildly successful at stopping the meat from carrying the bacterium. However the insane antibiotic regimes applied to animals in fact terrible for human health or health in general as it results in the formation of antibiotic resistant drugs. So check yourself Mr Harris.

Sin City Gun Guy While I have been a fan of AB since the first time I saw Good Eat his Uni-taster mantra at times can at time be as stale as three day old bread especially when you combine it with all the “gadgets” he has made to make a particular dish. I'm glad you mentioned plug in vs battery powered, because it costs virtually nothing to stick a simple switched-mode power supply in that thing so that you could plug it in to a 120 or 240 volt outlet (many phone chargers, for instance, run just fine on 100-240 volts), and you could even keep the battery compartment for when it might be needed, but when you can run it off the mains, that is way more efficient.

Love you Emmy! I bought a Trade membership after watching one of your videos! Had it for a while, love to see them sponsoring again! I want a whole bee keeping episode! Would love to see you just to answer questions and talk about bees!

Hi, Emmy! "SMASH!" I made Tamago Kake Gohan a few weeks ago, and I LOVED it. I had never thought of whipping the egg whites before mixing the egg with the hot rice, but the texture experience sounds absolutely lovely! I like mine with a little soy sauce and Japanese pepper, pretty plain and simple just the way I like to eat it. I just bought a bag of seaweed salad, which I like to eat as a side dish. Maybe I'll add some to my next bowl of TKG!

I also make my own cold brew coffee. I buy the coffee mate sweet cream, no flavor. Just the sweetened cream. When I tell you, it is the most delicious iced coffee I’ve ever had in my life. I go to a market close to my home and buy whole beans. So each jar of cold brew is so incredibly fresh. I love you Emmy God bless you and yours.
