From coast to coast, thousands in the U.S. are spilling out into the streets in emotional protests over the Israel-Hamas war. Law enforcement officials tell NBC News they are monitoring “a lot of chatter” on social media after a former Hamas leader declared it a global day of anger. NBC News’ Blayne Alexander reports.

It’s a complex history and a sad situation for civilians on both sides, but people need to call out what Hamas did last Saturday was an act of terrorism. Hamas is the cause of sufferings that Palestinian civilians in Gaza are having. It’s horrible that Palestinians are dying, getting injured, and getting displaced by this war. But you can’t blame Israel for retaliating. Overthrow Hamas and release as many hostages as possible.

It’s odd to me that Americans have such strong opinions to wars going on thousands of miles away. We are so sure of ourselves that we know what’s really going on when really we’re just going off what our favorite news station is telling us. It’s also extremely weird that as soon as Israel got attacked and blindsided there were tons of college students standing up and protesting against the folks that got attacked. Usually most people step and defend the victims and not the attackers. It’s very confusing and I don’t even try to understand because I’m not there and nobody will tell us the truth.

This is the dynamic of this conflict. It takes about eight years of extremist Israeli governments to get to the point where the U.S. will put pressure on them to solve these issues. But usually the Arabs will commit some act of terror in about two hours that will also destroy what goodwill they have with the international community and make it politically impossible for anyone to support them.
