They need to reduce the product line. The QC process could be improved with more focus on less products

That’s not a bad idea. I think that everyone went stir crazy during the stay at home times and this is the result. Dan shared the upcoming portfolio with me and what you see here is only a small fraction of the new line. This is more of a jack of all trades situation which is cool. High QC is important too. We will see how it all plays out.

@@ThatHomeTheaterDude agree with you that technical folks had a lot of time on their hands. I mean they are trying to make speakers and subwoofers like SVS , separates like Marantz and receivers now like Denon. It is A LOT of products and EMOTIVA didn't always have the best QC process to start. I am a little concerned that it could get worse not better. The AVR could be a sales leader if priced correctly and the product is fairly bug free upon release. Thanks for sharing.

@@keepingupwiththejones2933 I agree. I've been a bit disappointed in my RMC. The sound is great but hdmi switching and slow responsiveness when changing the volume is in need of significant improvement. Lastly the slowness of firmware updates and lack of promised modules makes me second guess buying another one.

Seriously...bread and butter Amps, Pre/Pros, and ONE line of speakers tuned for their design principles as an engineering exercise. They should make that lineup as good as possible at the "hi-fi disrupting" price point that they made their name on. Everything else is just making them another NPC brand in the sphere.

I had the Emotiva RMC 1 and Emotiva amps. Ended up sending the RMC 1 back, kept the amps. If Emotiva ever decided to revamp or scrap the old pre/pro's and come out with a new stable processor, I'd reconsider in the future. Very happy with their amps.

@@kack7130 It really depends on your needs: are you a music lover or movie lover? Some receivers are best suited for music, where others specialize in movie content. Since I watch movies and rarely listen to music, I opted with the Denon 6700h. Pretty good DAC chip and the stability is solid. It comes with 13 pre outs, so the possibilities for a 7.2.6 configuration exist with external amplifiers. Yes good pre/pros start around the $5k+ range, in 10 years from now when everything is obsolete, I’ll have saved for the better $20k models. Btw: with extra $ I had by going with the Denon, I was able to pick up an OLED, I was running with a 55” LED, huge upgrade. Well, hope this helps you out a bit.

You still liking the hc-1? I'm nowhere close to an audiophile, I've had a Denon POA 2200 stereo power amp since 87' and love it, its gone in to protection mode somethings wrong. Its 220 wpc @ 8. Was looking at the hc 1's, why do most of the older amps have a lower thd usually around 0.005, compared to the emotiva's 0.1 ? I've looked at both the specs on these too amps, and can't make out which ones better. Maybe you can shed some light. Thanks.

Dissapointed the Bas X MRI does not have HDMI 2.1 and Dirac Live. I have had the first series Emotiva XPA-2 and XPA-3. I transitioned (back in 2016) to a Class D Wyred 4 Sound St-1000MKII and I sold the XPA-2. Then in 2018 I purchased a second hand Arcam AVR-850 for $2,800 that I still use today. Prior to to the Arcam I had a Denon AVR-4311CI, I used the pre-outs and connected the XPA-2 and XPA-3. Movies sounded great but 2 channel sounded dull and life less. I started looking to replace my front left and right speakers (Mirage OMD-28's). Glad I did not sell the Mirages, once the Arcam with Dirac was in place it was like a wet blanket was lifted from my speakers.

I think Emotive has gone a little too much into the speaker side. I have an RMC-1, their "flagship" processor. It has always given me problems. I have to reset it a lot. I also have an older XPA3 amp. That has been flawless for many years. And I have a newer XPA11. It also has been flawless. I loved their business model of affordable "punch". I have a pair of E2+ surround speakers, not bad, nothing to write home about. And also a pair of height speakers, but I am not sure of the model, don't want to get a ladder to take them down. They are fine but again nothing special. I kind of wish they would just go back to some "punch" and stick with amps. Maybe work on your receivers and stick with them. Speakers have many options that are already proven. I am proud of and show off my Emotive amps. The processor and speakers.....not so much.

@@ThatHomeTheaterDude Ah, with you. Even internal jumpers like my Audiophonics have would be great. Those that have the know-how can do it themselves and others can tell Emotiva what their gear is and have them set at the factory. In my case I changed them to get rid of tweeter hiss (bypass mode at 12.8 dB vs around 22 and 26db.). My XPAs were terrible for it (29 and 32dB) with the Altitude 32, perfectly fine with two previous Yamahas. An expensive thing to have to fix, if the Emotivas has a user adjustable gain it would have saved me a fortune, I still have 3 barely used HC-1s sitting idle. :(

In Wall Speakers with no enclosures are just confusing to me. A speaker driver pushes air (sound) in both directions so all this design and money tosound deaden a room but also stop leakage and you just blast 50% of your sound into the wall cavity? Also performance wise.. what measurements am I going to get? That's the same as a buying a floor stander with no cabinet and then being told just put a box behind it. In a 90mm wall cavity with studs next to it that will sound totally different than in a ceiling with 10ft of space above. We are more knowledgeable to make these mistakes how is this happening?
