I unbox and setup my new the Emotiva XPA-7 Gen3 7 Channel Audiophile Amplifier and configure it to work in my home theater. I'll post the full review ( • Emotiva XPA-7 Gen3 7 C... ) as soon as I can. This is definitely one the best values in home theater amplifiers on the market right now. If you're looking for a new amplifier for your home theater, this should be at the top of your list. This gives you very good performance and is relatively attainable for many enthusiasts.

The Monoprice is an ATI power amplifier. They are grand amplifiers, but the Emotiva is much more easier to live with. Lighter for sure. Uses an SMPS power supply but still tradiitional class AB design amplifier stages. My history is steep with Emotiva. Went to most of the Emofest events. A fan since 2006. I still have a connection with Emotiva though much smaller now. BAS-X and XPA and DR reference are their core families. I knew about the super power supply years before it is in your amplifier. Produces all the power you will ever need. Enjoy! And Congratulations!

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with my Emotiva amps, I use 3 amp + 1 monoblock just for the center channel speaker for clarity and separation.

You will definitely enjoy the Emotiva amplifier! I don't have any XPA's but I have a bunch of BasX amplifiers and they are definitely great amps.

I saw a review on the basx recently and they look impressive. I liked the extreme customization options on the xpas, since I’m planning on expanding in the future.

@@Upscaled_Reviews I definitely like the BasX. I haven't decided what to use to power my 18" Ultimax subs but XPA's are a possibility. Two of them customized each with the four high power amps for one channel/woofer. That's probably overkill. Actually just one with 4 high power amps, two woofers/ch is probably more than enough.

So you’re plugging in red/white on the receiver but the amp only accepts 1 rca input? How does that work?

You can use any rca cable. The color doesn’t matter.

Can I use two speakers with 7 channel amp? I am planning to buy only front speakers and amp for now and add remaining speakers eventually

Do you get any hiss from this amp when no signal is playing? Is it more or less than your AVR?

Just got my xpa5. Running Martin logan xt60,xt50xt35. Pioneer elite sc-89. Oppo 203. Update. Probably my ears aren’t calibrated but I don’t notice much difference. Could be because I have an av receiver instead of a preprocessor. Either way, imo if you have a small room, there’s no need to go separate or amplify. If you have a long room like mines 14x32 then maybe. Overall I don’t think It was worth it for me to get an external amplifier

if you put 4 sub in your room, would it be better, but too much wiring. You put 2 sub in the rear? I have 7.2.6

This video was about fomo, but just covers the installation…. That said, regarding the fomo, what do you think so far? Difference in sound or performance? Waiting for placebo to pass? Thoughts?

Bro, no hate but that cable mess...can I recommend watching some videos about network cabling, dressing network cable? I just got into the industry and looks are everything. I take that knowledge home now. I get it as mine looks just as bad right now but I plan on taking what Ive learned working in data centers and and DAS head ends and making my home network and theater look just as kick ass in the back as it sounds in the front.

Going to start with a clean slate when I move to the new house/theater. It will be a goal to have better cable management. It did look better in the beginning but slowly got worse over the years.
