Theyre just awesome you can do everything with them. I also like the fact that theyre specialized to get everything as best and as fastest over water because japan is an island in rl (obviously) You can even drive ''buildings'' over water

the mission with the emperor is a lengthy one... but due to that fact, you have the chance to make your units overpowered. thus enabling you to destroy the emperor's mecha unit in seconds

I have a freind who truly is as unstoppable in this game as the rising sun are. he has beaten a three V 1 surprise attack in less than two moves just fighting him shakes my spine and rattles my nerves!

I play Empire because I enjoy the flexibility of the faction. Instead of having a concrete "this unit is strong against this unit type" Empire gives the player a "this unit can be used against this OR this depending on the situation". Sorry if your comment was sarcasm or a joke, it's hard to pull tone from text :) but I know playing Empire, for me, has nothing else to do with anime.
