I covered 1000 miles on foot, walking from Czechia to Sweden and I had this band's music with me. It gives you a different angle of seeing the world when you disconnect from the mundane every day life and connect your emotions to the nature and do nothing but observe the wonders around you.

This was my son's first favourite song when he was four. He's now thirteen, and I feel so ridiculously sentimental about this now.

And to think this album debuted in 2008!!! This band was SO far ahead of it's time I wish they were still around to be smashing to radio today because I believe now would have been the perfect time speaking in musical styles and what's popular. Thank you EotS for everything you did

if anyone is confused about this video, freaked out about the swordfish women, or just flat out like "wtf is this" I have an explanation for this! it will make you appreciate this band even more if you didnt already. this band is flat out spiritual I have to say. ok so, the people in the group (forgot their names) are natives of Australia. The natives of Australia are called the Aboriginis. they have many creation stories but one in particular is what the public knows about. They worship a time space deminsion called "Dream time." when the world was first made by what they call "the maker of all things" it was just this flat piece of nothing basically. No plants or anything, so the "maker of all things" also known as Baiame released the creatures of the dream time world and they brought life to Earth. the example of the type of creatures that came from dreamtime, are swordfish people that could look like men or women. (explains the sword fish women in the video) or creatures that already looked like men and women. ( I encourge you to read about the whole creation story) The lead singer's head dress, and many other head dresses he has worn look very similar to aborigini head dresses used for ceremonies. the aboriginis do theses ceremonies to communicate with the dream time world. just look on google at the many different head dresses the lead singer has worn as well with aborigini head dresses and you will see what I mean. so basically the video is portraying the world of Dream time.

Simply amazing. I saw these guys in September. Best concert I've ever been to. To the "common," man, these songs are probably just noise and people dressed up in weird costumes. To the creative, it's like candy for the ears and mind. Their songs invoke a feeling in me that can't be rivaled by any other band. It's a feeling of adventure, relaxation, and energy, all rolled into one unique hour long experience. Enjoy the journey that is Empire of the Sun.

This song brings me back to my college days. I was seventeen years old, out on my own for the very first time. I was overwhelmed and terrified, but I was finally free of my abusive family. It was a riveting and humbling era of my life. Life was hard back then, but whenever I hear this song, I miss those wild days.

In all seriousness this is my favorite song of all time. Not just Empire…my #1 favorite ever. Has been for close to a decade. Kavinski Nightcall is right there but no song has the staying power of this one. I literally CANT get sick of this song. If it was the only song I listened to on repeat for the rest of my musical life….I don’t hate that.
