Textiles make up the third largest manufacturing industry in Ethiopia, after processed food and leather. ITC is working with its local partner, the Center for Accelerated Women’s Economic Empowerment, to provide women weavers with capacity building, training and support to help them earn higher incomes.
The work is done through the ITC project on ‘Supporting Women in the Textiles and Garments Sector’ in Ethiopia, under the Women and Trade Programme.
