Encountering a snake during my afternoon walk was surprising!
Snakes are most active during warmer months, especially in the early morning and late afternoon when it’s cooler but still warm enough for them to move around comfortably. They tend to prefer habitats with ample cover, such as tall grass, rocks, or fallen logs, where they can hide and hunt for prey. If you encounter a snake, remember to stay calm, avoid sudden movements, and give the snake space. Snakes are important native wildlife and are not looking to harm people, so you can appreciate them from a distance. 🐍🌿
