So much of this story feels like someone who fell in love with someone who was completely unavailable to him. And so all of his 'relationship' with her was experienced through his dreams and his relationship with sleep. Like someone watching everything he desires through a pane of fogged glass.

This is the one that breaks me. It has such a strong personal meaning for me and I constantly marvel at how Vessel is able to put together the right words to express how I've felt at times far better than I ever could.

I'm convinced the end of this song is the sound of UK ambulance sirens through water. He is being pulled up from the water toward the surface. I also think this entire album is him working through the stages of grief while in a liminal state of drowning while trying to unalive. Not sure if you've seen Over the Garden Wall, but *START SPOILER* the whole story kind of happens while a character is suspended in water, drowning, and has an epiphany that brings them back to consciousness. *END SPOILER* This whole album reminds me of that structure.

Fuck, this song is so beautiful and heartbreaking. This is probably my second favorite song off of tomb right behind High Water and these 2 songs back to back just absolutely hit the feels. I look forward to seeing you take on Eden next, as always BANGER video

When one goes through the stages of grief, it's not uncommon to dip in and out of each stage, or revisit a stage. They don't necessarily need to be sequential or in any specific order. Also, what if he is referring to himself? What if he gained a self of awareness or 3rd person POV with the power of Sleep?

This is the same band that ruined us with that breakdown one song before this on the album. I’ll also say that tempering is mostly used in reference to metallurgy. Worship.

"To remember what I did before, The stories that you never told to me" My interpretation is that he did some things in the relationship and didn't realize how it affected her at the time. We've probably all done that - said something, did something, did not do something - and it hurts the other person and they didn't let on but it festers and builds. And the "him" simply means that she moved on and is now with that 'him', and Vessel still misses her.
