The right manager can maximize the outcome from the resources he has at his disposal. Leverkusen and Aston Villa were fighting for relegation in the middle of last season before Alonso and Emery were appointed to fix the rot. Both clubs ended the season in the Europa League position with pretty much the same sets of players. Both clubs have continued their improvements this season (especially Leverkusen).

@@ashtonndlovu9470 you don't even have to tell me that I'm a genius. Casemiro doesn't have the physical attributes to be a CB, Eriksen doesn't have them to play deep. Neither does Mainoo. Due to this the ball wasn't near Mount often enough to see his off the ball ability both in, and out of possession. Did you know Hojlund may have the physical attributes to play striker, but not to play leftback or goalkeeper?

We need good structures in place and an overhaul of our squad and I think the medical team also looking at the number of injuries and how they have rushed some players after injuries. I believe with the right structures and an overhaul of the squad we are good to go with Eth cuz of what he did with Ajax and man u in his first season

Alice, calm down. There is no point for us playing Europa league to be embarrassed. Let get rid of these players and this manager ( I backed him until the palace game but he's just not Utd material) and build a new squad around young players for the future. We need to be realistic, we are not ready to fight for the league right now. Ineos was right, only Mainoo, Hojlund and Garnacho are not for sale. Bruno can stay also but if a good offer comes in, we sell. We need new environment in that dressing room

Never been a fan of Manu Utd being a Geordie; however ETH is not the manager for that team. We need Man Utd to have a manager who will challenge for the title. The only thing I would argue against is the claim that we don't have oatterns of play. Even with a fully fit squad, we don't have 11 players across the pitch that can play in a unified style, the chain will always fail when there is a weak link and I would argue that we have way more than one at any given time. Not defending EtH but suggesting that any manager, with this squad, would struggle to get abything going with them.

Good evening / morning, Alice - I wisely watched an old Hitchcock movie on TV out here in Burgundy and simply why INEOS don’t appoint the Palace manager and ask him to bring several of his excellent players. Ten Haag surely cannot survive this shocking display. Poor Manoo part of the future seemed to spend most of the future playing so deep it was embarrassing. This is what worries me as a Liverpool fan, ETH did better in Holland than Slot and can't cut it in the PL. Feyenoord are miles behind PSV this season. I can see us struggling next season as well especially as Klopp's DNA runs right through the club. Tuchel did ok at Chelsea, won a CL and got them to finals, he might be able to turn things around if he goes to MU.

I'm with you Alice and fuming at such a scoreline. How has this great club sunk to such an abyss. Slow, boring , disjointed football. Painful to watch. Even Luton Town plays exciting attacking football unlike these lots with such ridiculous wages. No doubt ETH will say they are making progress. These players seem to get injured at the slightest fall or tackle like they are like tiles easily snapped. What Ratcliffe intends doing. I've seen any action yet. Is he another Woodward?
