I've had a lot of luck with Orca slicer. The benchy I got on my Ender 5 (non S1) is the best I've ever got. Prints wonderfully. Good to know you have the podcast with Nathan. Interesting contrast. I'm a fan of his channel. I have to check this out.

I have an Ender 5 S1 with a sonic pad and I have not been able to make it work. When doing Z "auto level" I get a Z offset of 4.96mm and haven't been able to get rid of it. Any suggestions?

Wow that's impressive how easy that was to setup. I think the Sonic Pad is 12V, which is unfortunate so it would take an extra buck converter to power it directly from the internal power supply. My Sonic Pad should show up this week, so I'm looking forward to an easy install.

It's a very easy install. Never thoiught about powering it internaly instead of with a plug. Hmmm.....

@@GuysShop I need to clean up my Sonic Pad install. Powering it using a buck converter, getting it mounted to the frame, and maybe getting a right angle USB cable will be really nice. It would be ideal if Creality posted a guide on how to do this, or sold a kit. But they have always leaned pretty heavily on other people to figure it out.

Alright, just ordered the buck converter and USB plug. Thanks for showing close-ups of all the parts of the machine. I picked out the parts using your video as reference so I didn't have to go downstairs and take mine apart!

You can get 90 degree wire adaptors to reduce how much the side cables project.

Yeah, I get that. It just kinda sucks that the engineers who desiugn these things don't think about things like that. It's all in the details....

Awesome video! I just got the Ender 5s1 and Sonic pad and while I’m setting it up now, I do not see where to attach the accelerometer to the tool head on my Ender 5s1…did you modify the tool head at all to fix the accelerometer to it? Or how should I attach the accelerometer to the tool head so I can complete the ‘measuring residences’ testing? Thanks!

Thanks! There should be some .stl files on the memory card that came with the printer. Thast's where I found mine to print out.

@@GuysShop killer. So did you print the “accelerometer attachment” using the stock Ender 5 s1 setup before hooking up the Sonic Pad? Or did you setup the Sonic Pad and just print the “accelerometer attachment” without doing the residence testing first so that you could then complete the residence testing with the printed part to attach the accelerometer? Haha that’s a lot of words, but hopefully you get what I’m asking.

@@GuysShop thanks! I found the STL files. However I do not see one for the E5S1. Did you use the flat cable version of the “Ender3 S1 & Ender 3s1 pro” as it’s labeled in the contents on the Sonic Pad USB drive? Or did you use a different STL file they provided? Perhaps the “Ender 5 plus” one? Sorry for so many questions - just trying to avoid printing multiple brackets and then realizing they aren’t going to work.

Whats the reason why no one can or will share the slicer settings for cura for a fast printer profile? I read about benchy under 30min in good or flawer quality. But never see settings who are an orientation for tests

I dont use Cura, so I'm not going to be much help. I know Chep on the Filament Friday YT channel shares his Cura profiles with viewers....

Do you leave the accelerometer plugged in while printing ?

Nope. After it runs, it will ask yuou to save changes. Say yes and then disconnect.

I noticed that you are using an 8 GB SD Card. I have been having trouble loading the firm ware using a 64GB SD card. I have been reading on line that Ender printers have problems reading cards larger than 8 GB. If that is true is would be helpful to your viewers to alert them to this potential problem.
