USA: LUXURY CAMPING CARS | ENDEVR Documentary
Watch 'Health as a Luxury:' here: • Health as a Luxury: Wh...
Forget cramped caravans, these luxury camping cars are more like palaces on wheels. Terri and Richard’s is the size of a bus, complete with made-to-measure marble kitchens and bathroom, extendable surfaces and heated toilet seats. It cost over $2 million but enables them to escape the heat of Florida every summer for Michigan. They’re what’s known as ’snowbirds’, spending seasons living in other states.
On average, snowbirds change their cars every two years, turbo charging the luxury van market. The market is also boosted by Hollywood stars. Mariah Carey’s features side extensions and an unfolding second floor that can be transformed into a dance floor! Other camping cars come with a helicopter pad on the roof.
Over a million Americans have adopted the ’nomad’ way of life. Some, like Richard, are ‘part timers’, travelling for a few weeks alongside their work. Others, like, Jennifer and JR, who live aboard their bus with their two children, have left their old life behind completely and embraced life on the road.

Truck driver here can confirm you do not drive that bus better than most car drivers drive their car, in fact you need a WHOLE lot more awareness of you surroundings. You could see that car indicating to go into his driveway you should have adjusted position on road accordingly and maybe look ahead 100 metres and scan for potential hazards instead of turning right without looking in mirrors violently.

I can agree With you wholeheartedly. As a motorcycle rider, we have a lot in common. If we don’t pay absolute attention to what we’re doing on the road, somebody’s going to die. in my case, it will be me. That RV at 48:42 was a complete idiot and in the wrong. The four wheeler in the pick up truck didn’t do anything wrong. It was the guy driving the RV that had a temper. As someone like you that drives professionally an 18 wheeler I’m sure you can see the issue.

JR is a whiner. If you are a driver of ANY vehicle on a road you should be driving DEFENSIVELY and expecting there to be idiots, Yes it's stressful, but you made the decision to uproot and drive around with your wife and kids, Maybe drive slower? then you don't have to stress about space and time to slam on brakes...not to mention him freaking out about no wifi. hmmm don't seem like he handles stress well

When my dad took us camping we went in a tent and he always got the primitive camp sites. No electricity or regular toilets. They had outhouses. Dad always said camping any other way defeats the purpose of camping. It's not camping you might as well stay home. When dad got in his late 40s he decided to get a pop-up camper only because he couldn't sleep on the ground anymore. The pop-up was just a basic one nothing extra. We only got to enjoy it 2 summers before he passed away from a massive heart attack at 50 but I have fond memories of camping with him and my 2 sisters. We went camping every weekend we could & every vacation he had. I do remember in the 90s ppl camping in rvs and campers but they would be inside doing whatever & not outside enjoying time with their family. I never understood it. These "houses on wheels" are NOT camping at all! It's truly 😢 because they aren't appreciating what camping is really about. Spending quality time with your family outside and exploring nature.

It's only their future ability to manage, in a world full of people that aren't, Mom & Dad!...🤷🏻‍♀️..happy trails!

So get'er done? You don't have to be a millionaire. You just need to setup an income stream where you don't have to be attached to your job at the hip. I have my own business, not a millionaire in the slightest, but I built the system that allows me to step away, and the business can still function. These motor coaches, you don't have to buy one. You can rent one out. I've done that before... all the adventure and fun, and then when you had your fill, you can walk away. Nothing better than that. OR, if you're a ppl person, plenty of coach owners offer hostel like accommodations. You share the Coach with them, and go to dedicated sites and share travels. I've done that one as well. Met great ppl, and made new friends.

Be safe, family! Our community of Yuma, Arizona, USA, fills with motorhomes every winter, especially in the Yuma Foothills area. Most people driving these vehicles do not consider motion physics and the load they drive - and with towing a car - even mor dangerous. Please see videos of crashed at 70 mph. Calm down and slow down to no more than 60 mph. And, please do not follow closely or pass semi trucks, especially in bad weather conditions like rain, snow, hail.

Just because it’s not your parenting style doesn’t mean the kids will turn out bad. Everyone always takes things personally and think ‘well, they are not doing it like I am so they are clearly wrong’.

This doesn't make much sense for the American "family". Just like the largest tree in your local town, the roots run very deep.

This documentary was made in France therefore the currency is in Euros. You can use a currency converter but as a rule of thumb, the euro is slightly higher than the dollar

This is such a bizarre documentary, from the egotistical families to the ridiculousness of these money pits, to the British English word usage…
