Been meaning to get one of those… My issue is lack of space. Too many RC cars… What a problem. Lol

It's funny that we think the Avante has a difficult gear access now. Back then, when you had to service gears, almost all the buggies needed their gearboxes removed and completely taken apart. Imagine something like the DT-02/3 gearbox as normal.
@Triggered-RC Жыл бұрын
Yeah. Quite a bit simpler. I didn’t have to disassemble the entire rear end at least. Come to think of it, my Team Associated DR10 is a lot more work to get into the gears!

I like your paint scheme. I heard Tamiya used all those links for adjustability.
@Triggered-RC Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yeah, they allow a lot of adjustment, but you can get the same amount of adjustability at 10% of the weight. LOL

Nice review, how did you get the rear gearbox sorted?
@Triggered-RC28 күн бұрын
@@baljitmiller3540 I just didn’t have it right enough I guess. After I took it apart, I tightened it down more and it worked.

Hi. Just got mine kit 47390 and had the manual kit number 84270 is that normal.
@Triggered-RC5 ай бұрын
Yes, I believe so. 84270 was the old kit number that didn't come with the torque splitter and the race steering set. 47390 does. No need to update the manual I guess.

cool video :) seems to be quite fast, what motor did you put in it? :)
It's the dumbest name for a paint color! I'm guessing it translates differently in Japanese LOL! @@Triggered-RC

Who did you order yours for to get it so cheap
@Triggered-RC Жыл бұрын
I live in Shanghai. Prices here are the same as in Japan and we get everything on their release schedule. They release models all the time that are only officially released internationally every few years, and the local resellers just get batches sent over. Like my Avante Black. New kits are always available here, so, lower prices.

@@Triggered-RC Impossible to get it that cheap from the state. Even the authorize dealer sell them around $500+.
@Triggered-RC Жыл бұрын
@@KC-wo5xe Only option is to buy direct from Japan or HongKong. Try PlayAsia and RCMart.

Overengineered ... sure. For one, Tamiya did mean it, when it came out in '88, to compete with the Schumacher Cat and the like AFAIR, and had to go on to the Egress to compete. But still, the Avante still got a certain image and nimbus for its elegance, while the Egress looks brute and rudimentary, as if BigWig did a major diet + training, with their oversized+ugly front suspension, not to speak of the unwanted siblings Vanquish and "Avante 2001". Meanwhile, one could consider the evolved Avante 2011 (CNC parts vs die cast ones, enforced compound parts, ball diffs, joints, ...) as bragging off their japanese fine mechanics crafting, amidst the dozens of el cheapo plastic chassis * half a dozen body shells each.... that NEED the body to hide the boring, blunt drivetrain. The Avante is eyecandy, "dressed" and "naked", in each detail. Btw - I don't get warm with the ping wheels ... champagne, silver or light charcoal wheels + dampers would be a perfect contrast IMHO, but pink makes it look like a toy.

Great review! It is a beaut for sure. I think I’ll build the ugly Durga next. The body is sleek, the chassis is a pig.

@@Triggered-RC Japanese have quite contrasting ideas of style and beauty.... they are better, when re-using foreign designs, than transferring manga style to tech stuff ;-)
