I think my favorite sidequest was helping kelly ( i think that’s her name ) with her amnesiac friend who just so happened to be a diver with a daughter that looks just like oceana and has a name starting with M. And then it never gets touched on again. 😂 Edit: for those who are confused there is a side quest for kelly who has a friend that has amnesia. She asks us to take pictures for him and one of them has oceana in it who the man seems to recognize saying “ he has a daughter that looks just like her “. This along with the fact his name started with M caused a whole slew of theories that it was oceana’s father who’s name is Matthew, somehow managed to resurface from his malfunctioning submarine but got amnesia at some point.

I'd love to hear more about your opinions on different aspects of this game! Just last week, I completely finished the first Endless Ocean by finding all 47 salvages, which I feel is way more annoying than finding all the salvages in Endless Ocean 2. But that 100% took 204 hours, whereas getting 100% on Endless Ocean 2 took me 392 hours a couple years ago. But now there are well over 400 hours on that save file because it's just so relaxing and I still come back to it even after getting 100% in the game. Endless Ocean 2, to me, is far superior to Endless Ocean apart from a few things: I really like how Endless Ocean keeps track of the date in-game, whereas Endless Ocean 2 does not. I also dislike how almost every dolphin partner that you can have in Endless Ocean 2 has some kind of mutation or difference from a typical member of its species, so in taking extensive time to train these dolphins, almost like forming connections to them, I'm not even seeing what each species normally looks like. In Endless Ocean, after you finish the story, Katherine has a different line that she says on every day of the year when you talk to her, which keeps her from feeling too one-dimensional even after there's nothing left to do in the game, but in Endless Ocean 2, the four people you can talk to on Nineball Island just say the exact same thing every single time. As for dolphin training, in Endless Ocean there's no real incentive to train the dolphins, because you can get rid of them whenever you find a new dolphin to have as a partner. But in Endless Ocean 2, the dolphins are at least part of your save file forever, so you can train them a lot, and for some reason I maxed them all out (10.9 seconds on each timed trick and 27.2 feet on each jump, apart from the Fly to the Stars and Unicorn Drill special tricks, which I believe I got to 33.5 and 28.5 feet respectively). So that was satisfying. One thing I'd love to do is to get an M2 Mac mini and hide it behind the TV, and then use it for Dolphin Emulator just to play the games in high-quality. But apparently you can play this with just a keyboard and mouse? I'll have to learn more about that.
