TheMrKeys I have a suspicion that Honda may bring 2 strokes back, now that KTM dominate the 2 stroke market, and 2 stroke sales are now higher than they've been since the 90's -- especially with KTM now dabbling in fuel injected smokers, and Beta using oil injection instead of pre mix. Fuel injected, oil injected 2t will mean very long lasting engines, with significantly better fuel milage. This will make the 2 strokes are more viable option for racers and average consumer. It also helps that the leader in the 2 stroke market, KTM, is making their 2t's very torquey, and have usable mid-range power. I predict it won't be more than 3 years before Honda jumps back in, with a 125 it 250 2 stroke -- maybe they'll even chase the KTM 300.

2strokes are lubricated using the oil mixed with the fuel (whether the oil is pre-mixed with fuel or added in a dedicated oil tank doesn't change this) the oil is going to be burned together with the fuel, with or without FI. FI was never meant to solve this.
