Her name has actually been registered for trademark by YG ages ago, just like it does for other YGAs so yeah even if this seems independent, YG has a stake for all the money coming in and out because of YGAs name. This is the reason why they are usually not allowed selfies or be seen in friends' vlogs cause money always comes in and out a YGA's identity branding. Until of course the artist decides not to renew the contract and YG will process the turn over like it did with CL, etc.

@@ashley2330 I haven't seen any news on the other members but I assume it's the same rule. Their brand names from BLACKPINK as a group and Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa as individuals are company property. Though to be fair to YGE, they can't be considered slaves because they are paid fairly which is why they are rich. They are also not overworked unlike other idols who have back to back schedules but get 10% of the income. YGE was the only entertainment company named in 2018 as one of the best companies for labor standards in SK. Yes YGE sucks in artistic freedom for BP but I'm not surprised given that their a lot of their fans are ruthless in their dance, outfit, hair, makeup, line distribution, tempo, etc. While the public nitpicks all social issues they find for controversy. YGE is just under so much worldwide pressure with BP content.
