Guys here in comment section telling only men can understand the pain or it is a sexist game,let me tell yall,getting struck in the groin is not painful just for men,getting struck in the groin can be pretty painful for women also and it happened quite a few times in women's soccer but the real reason they don't hold their groin much and choose to hold the chest is because soccer ball is big and their sensitive bits are small so even if the ball hit their groin,they won't get hurt alot cuz the pressure will be alot less,it would be more on the entire pelvic region then a straight small target whereas guys have big external anatomy and hanging bits outside which are much more likely to get hurt and are much bigger then a girl's groin bits,so it can get hurt alot and the pain can be in the entire anatomy this is the same reason more girls hold their breasts then the crotch region as it can hurt alot after getting struck as it's shaking,huge and is at a good location. So this should also cover why females hold their chest area.
