4 жыл бұрынThe drama depicts the love story of Bai Feng Jiu and Dong Hua Di Jun, that spans 2000 years. Feng Jiu, the queen of Qing Qiu, is the only red nine-tailed fox in Qing Qiu and thus being pampered by everyone. She loves to cry and to throw tantrums but is also persistent and brave. One day, when Feng Jiu is in the mountains for cultivation, a beast attacks her. Luckily, the former Emperor of Heaven Dong Hua passes by at this moment and saves her. To pay the debt of gratitude, Feng Jiu follows Dong Hua who goes to fight the rebelling Demon Lord. Feng Jiu soon realizes that gratitude has turned into love, however, Dong Hua already forgot what love is. In order to keep her safe, Dong Hua sends Feng Jiu to the mortal realm, but the guardian he sends together with her unexpectedly dies. While trying to find the immortal fruit that can let her be reborn, Feng Jiu enters the temple of the ghost princess.

You should watch the first series ten miles of peace bloosom first, so that when some character references are made in eternal love of dream the second series, you'll understand who they're talking about.

I am currently watching this series and I absolutely love it. A few notes though for people coming from Eternal Love: - forget everything that happened between Feng Jiu and Dong Hua in the first series (Eternal Love). Iirc when they were making that one they did not have the copyright for the book so they changed some things. This one is truly based off of the book - a lot of actors changed, which (as far as I've seen) is actually common for Chinese dramas with multiple seasons. I still find Zhe Yan and Bai Zhen cute in this one, though - speaking of, Zhe Yan and Bai Zhen are a bit less subtle here than in the first one, which I liked (they're still subtle, and it's mot explicitly stated, but at least less so than the first one) - Ye Hua did not make an appearance. I don't think they got the actor for him (also in the book he also did not make much an appearance). Bai Qian had an appearance for an ep or 2, though. And they were definitely mentioned quite a bit here. - A Li DOES make an appearance though, albeit with a diff actor. Those cousins are so cute!!

I was just about to ask this question. I'm happy someone explained what happened because I was so upset with the ending of both Dong Hua and Fengjiu in Eternal Love but I loved their story in this one! I am so happy that this is the way the book is as well!

Priscilla... I agree with you. Ancient love story is my number one all time favorite… I actually had withdrawal… I mean I was depressed that it ended. I wanted to be in that world. had to watch it a second time to sort of get it out of my system. Xu Kai can make me cry with just a look and I’m not a crier., & most actors do not impress me. Love and redemption is probably number two in my list. The long ballad is number 3. The acting skills of the male and female lead in “ashes of love” was superb. The reason the movie is not on my favorites list is because the last third of the movie is totally depressing. Great movie, but too much sadness. When the girl dies, I feel like I’m in the room with a real human being. He’s crying real tears and it is not glycerin drops. The girl is equally as good, expressing confusion, happiness & tears When appropriate.

I want to clarify one confusion as well: Emperor Donghua's hair is silver in the novel, in this drama, they mentioned many times it is white. It looks white here of course. BUT! He was born with that hair color. It is white/silver NOT because he is old!! I did not expect many people think it is white because his is an old man.😂😂😂😂 Later you'll know this when you see Gungun.

That's very interesting, because I recall DHD telling FJ at one point in Eternal Love (2017) that he was way too old for her, saying, "why do you think my hair is this color? " or something like that, indicating that it turned silver because of his age. He's a pretty expert liar, and I suppose that's a convenient fiction for him to use to discourage the throngs of young female admirers following him across the eons... LOL!

Yes… But supposedly this is a continuation… And it’s not… I am so confused because it’s not following the “eternal love” story line… Except for she flirts with dong hua and he resists, but really likes her. At the end of “eternal love”… The girl was made into the queen. Now she’s back to being a princess and it looks like we’re rewatching How she got into the palace as a maid.

Greetings. I agree! This is one of the sweetest storylines. It's full of playful Youthful, Innocence and love. The Story writers doesn't I force her to grow up too soon. She's allowed to retain her playful youthful innocence and pure heart. While being the Apple of The Emperor's Eye. For non-Chinese speakers, I am happy to explain some nuances behind the language and culture as I see many are confused. For the names: Donghua is his name, Dong means east, Hua means flower, gorgeous or magnificent; Dijun means Emperor, His Majesty, it is his title. He is the former emperor of the heavens, one of the ancient deities born from nothingness when the world was chaos. Calling him Dijun would show ultimate respect. So Xiaobai always called him that from the very beginning. Calling him Donghua would show intimacy, equality, and closeness. Miaoluo did this to show their power and status are the same. Liansong may call him this because he is his friends. Then the only one who called him Donghua is Baifengjiu. She called her Donghua three times as I recall: 1. She was drunk at EP 26 and accused him of leaving her alone when she was his pet; 2. in the Aranya's dream, when she was unconscious when Donghua took her spirit from her body and put her body the crystal casket. She was falling down to the endless darkness. 3. after they fight Miaoluo together. I bet she will call him that from now on to show she grown up and finally become equal with him.

for Fengjiu's name: Bai Fengjiu. Bai is her last name, it means white. Fengjiu is her given name. Feng means phoenix. Jiu means nine (her tails). She got this name because of the pheonix-feather-flower birth mark on her forehead. In the first life with Songxuanren, she is called Jiu’er. (Er means intimacy. It is like you call Tommy instead of Tom) Most people called her Xiao jiu (little Jiu). In the Fannin Valley, she gave herself a fake name Jiu Ge, which means nine songs. Donghua calls her Xiaobai, literally meaning little white. When calling someone little+last name, it has a feeling of intimacy. But also feels like an elder person calling a younger person. It is said that in the original story, she was a white fox, but not a red one, when she was his pet.

It is said in the novel, Donghua grew a pheonix-feather-flower plant in Bihai Cangling (the place where he was born and grew up, and where the wedding was supposed to be held), and when Fengjiu's mother gave birth to her, she had an obstructed labor, God Zheyan got the plant from Donghua and had her drink it, and when fengjiu was born, she got a birth mark similar to a pheonix-feather-flower

Hi Nikky W! I have a question for you. In the scene early in this episode where Lian Song is talking to Dong Hua, sort of criticizing him for fishing without a hook and Dong Hua says Lian Song's problem is that he only sees the obvious, surface reality, and not what's really there.... The last thing Dong Hua says after bringing up a globe of water with a carp inside, sounds like there's more than what the English subtitle says. I'm studying Mandarin at home, and I'm not good enough to be sure, but it sounds to me like what Dong Hua says is maybe two clauses, or two sentences. If you know Mandarin, can you give a listen, and if what Dong Hua says to Lian Song at the end of their exchange is more than what's in the English subtitle, can you let me know his full comment? For those people confused like I was thinking this was a sequel of the show we watched. This starts from the very beginning from Bai Feng Jiu's perspective pretty much but the story details are a bit different and true to the book. Hence events like Bai Qian's lovelife and Feng Jiu's experiences don't necessarily align.

I love this show more bc I think Donghua and Fengjiu’s scenes are so romantic and adorable. They get to have so many happy moments, and he’s so protective of her while also not wanting to change her. He gets to be adorably jealous and petty. Just so cute! I

Continuing this series after Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. The new set designs are beautiful, but the costumes seem cheaper. I'm so happy to see the major characters played by the same actors. Although, I wish Zhe Yan and Bai Zhen had remained the same too, their banter was great.

Also just finished Ten miles of peach blossoms. I saw Eternal love of dream first.. But at the end Bai Feng Jui becomes queen of the fox clan and here she is a princess again.. And she doesn't remember Dong Hua anymore.. Ah well.. I love both series as they are so addictive to watch.. 🤗🤗😅

@@nevaehlumiere5418 I've see a couple of comments saying that these guys couldn't get the rights to properly follow on from tmopb so that's why the storyline is so different. Apparently they were even planning on using a different actress for Bai Fengjiu but fans threw a fit.

This is one of my all time favorite dramas. Beautiful storyline and phenomenal actors/actresses. Three lives, three worlds-the pillow book, they endured so much suffering....their love is a testament of true, unprecedented love❤. I miss Dijin and little fox princess 👫. I rewatched x10.

@@ashleyngo05 from what i've gathered, shi li tao hua (eternal love) is not entirely based on the book because they didn't have the copyright or something like that (i heard they added a few things?) but this one is completely based on tang qi's (author) book :D so i guess a few things got changed. also ummm idk how true this is but i found this on a chinese website: feng jiu and dong hua also have "three lives" they have to experience, im guessing that's why? maybe try to find an english version of the novel..? i own the first book but haven't gone through it yet; i don't have the pillow book tho
