Hello everyone, I'm Shibasaki, a watercolor artist. Today I painted the Daibutsu (Great Buddha) in Kamakura, a popular tourist spot in Kanagawa Prefecture. I'll show you how to paint and how to create a picture using watercolors, making the most of the characteristics of the painting medium. I hope you can relax and enjoy watching it until the end.

I've been doing watercolor for more than 3 years, and only recently I've realized that I shouldn't rush even the smallest details since they hold the biggest meanings, especially with the primary subject/s of the painting. 柴崎先生、鶴岡八幡宮の長谷大仏を見せてくださって　ありがとうございました。ここも何度も行った懐かしい所です。紫陽花の頃は特に人々で賑わいますね。修学旅行生でいっぱいの時もあります。先生のおかげでじっくりと眺める事ができました。私の一日は朝昼晩と強い薬を飲んで眠って体調がよい日に家事を済ませて自分の時間に柴崎先生の動画を見ます😊今は心の中が温かいです。鎌倉の大仏はこんなに優しいお顔だち？だったかな～？といろんなことを想い出しています。もう休みます。ありがとうございました。

This majestic Buddha in meditation, gives the impression of being in "levitation". The neutral sky makes him appear "detached" from the frame and gives him even more presence, reinforced by the many colors that give him this natural side and patinated by time. A watercolour that brings peace and serenity. Thank you Mr Shibasaki.🗻♥️♥️👩🎨

鎌倉大仏は日本の代表的な風景の一つですが🏯建物と違って大仏様のお顔を描くのはとても難しいと思います😞　顔の表情や明暗の付け方、人物や背景とのバランス、描き込み過ぎないことが重要ですね💞　このシリーズも楽しみにしています🙌🎶🎉👏👏👏

I see that you paint differently in this watercolor often I notice that you use cool colours that looks great like in this . The Buddha has a calming effect in this colour .😌😌😌😌😊🖼️

How well represented is this beautiful historical statue, with a soft blurred background that makes it stand out from the whole. I love the slow, precise detailing and color choices of the Buddha. The statue is painted with such lighting 🥰🥰 i need to improve on my knowledge on light and shadow !!!! Stay healthy and take care grandpa !!
