one of the best series i've ever seen. the way they act no one could say that it's just an act because you can feel the sincerity and the naturalness in their actions. i really love these two, that's why i am still here rewatching it over and over again. and i am still praying and hoping for the season 3.

cana some one tell me if this is going to be one of those dramas where the woman is bending over backward to please a man and he is going to treat her like she doesn't exist and treat another woman better than his woman?? cuz if it is I wold rather not watch.... @111.30 he just spoke to his wife with the utmost disrespect and said they should not be togeth3r if she is jealous. is he blind or just dumb or plain dumb cuz its obvious the other woman is making a play for him, and then he asked his wife to go get the meds instead of the woman fiancé. as if his wife is an errand girl he wants out ot the way. grande she behaved like a 10 yrs old from the beginning ...lol... but it looks to me like she is living in cuckoo land and is willing to lick the ground to be married to this doc.. hmmm and do I have to watch it started with a kiss first before I watch this?? its a very old drama and I dont watch them much as the rolls are so out of perspective and totally for men and woman being submissive ...

Zhi Shu's character development from being a cold genius to the man he become at the ending of TKA is really commendable! Joe Nailed it! Ariel was also excellent! She portrayed Xiang Qin so well that she surpassed whatever her character needs to convey. I think ISWAK is more of Xiang Qin understanding Zhi Shu's character. That behind the perfect guy she likes is someone hard working and a lonely person. While TKA is more of Zhi Shu understanding Xiang Qin's Character that behind her silliness was a strong and selfless woman. Their love for each other radiates through the screen. Which makes us wonder why they did not end up together in real life. The writing, casting , acting, directing and actors are superb! This series is gold! 💙

Their chemistry is just too magical. Watching this again makes everything better. It's just too beautiful, I'm crying. I'll never get tired of watching this over and over again. I'm so thankful they gave us Ariel Lin and Joseph Cheng to portray these amazing characters. No matter how many versions there are (of course with the exception of the original which is the manga), I'll always choose this.

For me Joe and ariel will always be Kotoko and Naoki. He balances how Naoki straight forward nature and growth and Ariel balances Kotoko determination, funny moments and love in the manga. No other adaptation matches that chemistry to this day.

What makes this series special is scenes are naturally long and didn’t use too much sound effects. I just love how they use the real sound of the surroundings just like in the scene we’re they talk after she got lost and the kissing scene.

1:25:00 scene is one of my favorites, Ariel portrays the Innocence of Xian Quing really well, every kiss is something new for her, the way he touches her, she's enjoying as if she's discovering something for the first time... But at the same time, she feels loved, desired, that's what she was waiting for during a lot of time... The way he kisses her, like telling her: you're mine now, let me show you everything I feel for you, in a gentle but sexy way.

Indeed!! Edit(march14,2024): knowing that zhi shu likes her that much too from season 1 ( lowkey liking her) , remembering the episode where xiang qin first time going to his rental space .... Xiang Qin belittled herself that time, then zhi shu assured her (in his indirect way that he too likes xiang qin but not now because his mom will surely trick them)

長大以後再回頭看，真心佩服劇組用心之細以及選角的成功！要是換個人來演湘琴，我可能就會討厭+罵爆XD 依晨版的湘琴會惹人生氣、白眼、覺得她有時太過自私，但也會讓人心疼，發自內心希望她美夢成真。小綜版本的直樹也很棒，冷漠毒舌天才感完美貼合會出現在各偶像劇、小說或漫畫中的那種經典天才形象。 IQ200仍需要經歷曲折來學習感情和同樣需要依靠這兩個點，非常可愛～把漫畫作品改成劇很容易在重現某些橋段時透出尷尬，即使我們都知道這得與現實分開看待。但吻1吻2無論是主/配角選擇還是呈現方式都正中我紅心。細節鋪陳也很細緻，在情節或人設上沒有太過突兀的轉變，有偶像劇的夢幻美好，也有寫實的情感和心境。能讓人看著看著就跟著笑或哭了，我願稱它為經典之一。感謝八大讓我有這個緣份再來回顧一波（擦淚）

Naoki 1996 & Zhishu is my fave. I love how even when he's annoyed by his own wife, when she kisses him he smiles. Their versions both has emotions and not too stiff.

100% - apparently it’s because Kaoru Tada’s husband (who Naoki was modelled after) had a hand in advising the 1996 jap ver and the taiwanese ver. They should’ve consulted him too before remaking it in Korean bc lol that was appalling and the worst ver so far

I watched this when I was 12 and now I'm 27. I have watched all the versions I know about ISWAK/TKA, but nothing beats the acting skills of all casts here. It really feels like you're watching a true story of a real couple and their real family! From casting, setting, scenes, all the other things that make this series are so natural! I have rewatched this from TV to Blue-ray to YT. It never gets old. I would buy a DVD of this if there is somewhere. I would still want to watch it even when I'm old. Hope to visit Taiwan soon too! ❤️🇹🇼

Same, I was 13 or 14 and now 27. What's funny is that when I was a teenager watching this for the first time I related more to the first part of the drama, the unrequited love, the nights doing homework...and now I cried my eyes out the last episodes because I relate to their adult life. It will always be special for me and I will still watch it years in the future.

Oh My God I am watching this again and I have a partner with the same Attitude as Zhi Shu. I am addicted to this Taiwanese drama started with It Started with kiss and I am really attached to it. When I was still in High School I am dreaming to have a guy like Zhi Shu because its kinda romantic hahaha. I never expected it will become in reality. He really like Zhi Shu not the same passion and skills but the attitude is really the same hahhahahah But I love him so much and we are 7 years together already

如果只是作為一個醫生那介意確實是在無理取鬧，但前面經歷了那麼多次，我不相信直樹看不出來瑪麗是故意的，邊界感是個很重要的東西，還教她游泳，這麼個需要很多肢體接觸的運動，這吃醋非常合理吧，況且明明知道湘琴英文不好還讓她出去，萬一真的發生什麼事呢，整體還是很甜，但很多地方是可以改變的，現在才剛開始，相信直樹會更好的，只是我希望不要一味地認為湘琴不對

It seems like our Jiang Zhi Shu was either already an experienced kisser, or had imagined how he would kiss Xiang Qin when he was falling in love with her. Best kissing scene in any Asian drama I have seen.

the director even confess that there are so many adlibs that was included in the edited, which makes their chemistry more natural. This makes the best among the adaptations of the Itazura na Kiss.

I like the korean version But this version will forever have a special space in my heart Ive learned a lot from this drama S1 and S2 js really great Its kinda boring in the start but when you understand the story its more really realistic and heart warming its super funny and sweet too You could feel all the emotions in this series but then you'll realize how great of a chemistry the leads have They are both good looking too Xiang Qui is super cute and pretty I would love to download the whole story from S2 and 2 so i could watch it over again anytime i like

This version I can say is the best I've ever seen, because I've seen it from Korea, Japan and Thailand. This one is in first place and Thailand is in second place, because the male protagonists show more feelings.

This was the first version I watched and I loved it so much I watched other versions. Still think this is the best one. The love scene on their honeymood is the hottest I have ever seen in an asian drama. It is also the moment that the male character shows just how much he loves her for the first time so obviously clearly. His satisfied smiles especially at the end shows just how much he was wanting that moment.

其實，就因為湘琴這樣極端的個性，才有辦法彌補過度隱藏自己的直樹，記得後面的劇情裡，直樹說了一聲，簡單真好（湘琴很好猜測也沒有心機）我想了想，的確，簡單真好很多人的心思是很隱藏的，需要去猜測，但像湘琴那樣，直得很直，也很善良，很願意，在一起心裡不累。反觀直樹像他這樣的人，很不會表達自己，有外表有什麼用，有高智商有什麼用呢，生活裡面沒辦法互相情感的交流，還要去猜測他的心思，是很累人的，有時候又無情過了頭，就像湘琴不要他碰其他女生，再怎麼樣也不該講出那我們不適合在一起這句話最後的甜蜜蜜，我第一次看的時候看的臉紅心跳，和現在更大尺度的電視劇感受反而不同，這像是真的戀愛，只是第二次看的時候比較認真看其他劇情才有更深的感受不過湘琴不是考進過百名榜嗎？連police 都不知道有點扯劇情把她寫的像弱智一樣然後湘琴身材說像小學生那直樹跟她在一起的時候，怎麼不覺得在談禁忌之戀呀😆 戀童癖

this was the only version that had a whole ass love scene omg!,, ngl i think this adaptation is kind of the most realistic out of all and the male lead isn’t as cold and emotionally immature as the other male leads, including the manga/anime.

I don't think Zhi Shu was wrong about calling her out for being jealous but he shouldn't have called her out in front of others. He should have done it privately and not embarrass her in front of strangers.

FR! Then again, she needs to start speaking up and thinking on her own. It obvious, he wanted her to stay by the luggage area (shuttle) to reflect on the things she did on the plane and make her face the people she showed the video. Then he will would come back and meet her but since she is intrigued with that random couple (that she barely knows) she purposely forget what she does (not take responsibility) and just head off which in the end, this make her learn her lesson. She needs to learn, him screaming at her face in front of others is because she lack self-awareness amongst others until she finally told the truth in front of them, then she finally starts changing (aka taking responsibility for what she started in the first place)

I remember in a behind the scenes all those years, joe chen and ariel lin were told to make it as real as possible and to go all out ,which they did, and to let the directors know whenever they felt uncomfortable
