The 2023 Toyota Alphard/Vellfire arrive as the all-new 40-series, and both Lung Sir and Edmond Lau doubt there's room for improvement. We chatted with Mr. Kenichi Yoshioka, the chief engineer, and learned that Toyota went to Europe to test drive a variety of European MPVs when developing the 40-series Alphard and Vellfire. Alphard/Vellfire has improved chassis rigidity to improve the stability and handling at high speeds. In addition, regarding the suspension durability of the new Alphard and Vellfire, Toyota conducted tests in India to ensure that the suspension parts are less easily worn out due to high loads. Of course, the new-generation Alphard and Vellfire have been upgraded in terms of equipment. As the iconic Japanese boss car/Japanese seven-passenger car, the comfort and tranquility have also been improved. However, the most interesting thing is that, this time Lung Sir and Edmond Lau tested the Alphard 350 and Vellfire 350 models together. Both use a 2,400cc four-cylinder turbo engine and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Even the luxury equipment is the same. But the result of the test drive was a bit unexpected. The driving experience of Vellfire is more interesting than that of Alphard. You can learn the reason after watching the video.
